KTeas owners toasting you with TeaGreetings!
"It must be Friday 'cuz it's Chai!"  Ed said that this morning as we recognized that we've slipped into the habit of having chai-spiced* black tea with breakfast on Fridays.  (*Specifying "chai-spiced" because we've learned through our friends at Glenburn Estates that in India, they often refer to the CTC black tea, itself, as Chai--and after all, it does mean "tea", which is used as the base for the chai-spiced beverage that has become so popular here in the U.S.)  We honestly don't know why this tradition developed, it just seemed to fit, even during the summer.

Now Fri-Chai** seems all the more appropriate: the warming spiced tea as Autumn coolness begins to settle in at our locale!  Can you believe it's Fall, already?  It's hard to accept that the entire month of September is gone ::snaps fingers::!
(**Ed first reacted to our realization of the Chai-spiced tea on Fridays tradition by calling it Chai-Fris.  But that sounded more like French Fries with Chai spicing---which might be an interesting dish to try out!  Anyone want to experiment with it and share your results with us? Earn some K.I.S.S. the Tea rewards points . . .!)

We've been buried head-deep in preparations for multiple upcoming Autumn and Holiday activities, and didn't notice the calendar pages fluttering away.  Let's fill you in on a smattering of what we've been working on

Candy Cane Market fundraiser for PBWA Scholarship Fund

October 15, 2011 10:00am-4:00pm  will usher in the holiday shopping season at the Rock Hill Galleria Mall, in the old Goody's Space behind the Coca-Cola Play Area.

This is the 2nd year for the Candy Cane Market, which is already becoming the premiere fundraising event for the Professional Business Women's Association of York County(SC)'s Scholarship Fund.  Each year the PBWA gives several ladies, either a high school senior in Fort Mill or Rock Hill, or a continuing student at a local college or university, a scholarship to help them further their education.

The vendors and sponsors of the Candy Cane Market will present you with all your holiday shopping needs in one convenient place, there will be entertainment: children's dance schools, a martial arts demo, a women's singing trio.  Santa will be there, so you can get your photo of your child with Santa early tihs year!  You can further help the PBWA fundraising efforts thru buying a representative candy cane for $5.

And to further spice things up, there will be giveaways: you can get a complimentary doorprize ticket when you purchase the candy cane if you want to enter the drawings.  Drawings will be held throughout the day for doorprizes ranging from gift baskets from various vendors to a Blackberry all the way up to a weekend stay in Charleston with a carriage ride!

KTeas is a sponsor for the Candy Cane Market and will be one of the vendors, offering gifts of tea and tea-related items as well as chocolate through Dove Chocolate Discoveries -- Tea & Chocolate, hey!  Kathryn will also have a Creative Memories table at the Candy Cane Market where you can see some of the newest products, whether you're looking for gift possibilities or need to document your own holiday tea parties in your own albums!

So if you're local to the Charlotte, NC-Rock Hill, SC area, drop in on the Candy Cane Market and get into the festive spirit!

Kathryn--the K in KTeas--wrote the Foreword for Death in Dixie!
There are two ways that Death In Dixie, the 2nd installment of The Traveling Tea Ladies by Melanie O'Hara-Salyers, make the perfect October Fall reading!

(1) It takes place during the National Storytelling Festival in Jonesborough, TN!  This year, the 39th annual National Storytelling Festival takes place October 7-9 in Jonesborough.  As much as we love Storytelling, we won't be there either as KTeas or as ourselves.  So we appreciate the chance to travel there a little bit via the pages of Death In Dixie!

(2)  Ghost stories are central to this mystery!  We love ghost stories, but we realized when reading Death In Dixie that somehow through life, we haven't collected our own favorite ghost stories, we missed out on the ghost stories around the camp fire while toasting marshmallows!  So we're looking for your favorite ghost stories.  We'll hold a Facebook drawing and it'll work like this:

"Like" our KTeas Facebook Page if you haven't already so it'll be easy to notify you if you're the winner.  Go to the Discussions page and post your ghost story in the "Ghost Stories! What's your Favorite?" topic.  That will enter you in a drawing to be held on October 21 so that you can email us your mailing address if you're not already a customer through our website (in which case we'll already have your snail-mail address) & we can send you the book in hopes that you can read it by Halloween!

Boo-waaaahaahaahaha!
