2010 Legislative Luncheon Addresses Current Issues
Legislative Lunch
The White Lake Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting its eleventh annual Legislative Luncheon on Monday, May 17th at Alcoa/Howmet Plant 10, 3850 White Lake Drive, Whitehall, MI.  Due to the success from last year's luncheon, there will again be a time to meet and greet with our keynote speaker, United State Representative Peter Hoekstra, at 11:30am for one-on-one interaction.  The luncheon and program will begin at 12:00 noon.
The luncheon will feature United States Representative Peter Hoekstra.  Congressman Hoekstra will inform attendees of his work with the committees in which he is involved and give an update on local and current issues in Washington, D.C., expectations for the future, as well as responding to questions from the floor.
County and local officials will also be attending this event.  A regional representative from United States Senator Debbie Stabenow's office will be present along with State Senator Gerald Van Woerkom, State Senator Wayne Kuipers, State Rep. Doug Bennett, State Rep. Mary Valentine, and State Rep. Geoff Hansen.  Several other honored guests from the area will also be participating in the luncheon.
A broad, cross-section of people from the White Lake Area's industrial, commercial and business communities have expressed the importance of attending this luncheon.  This is a great opportunity for interested citizens to communicate with these leaders as well as a potential future Governor of Michigan.
This year's event is generously hosted by Alcoa/Howmet and sponsored by PNC Bank.  Dave's Kountry Katering is planning a delicious lunch along with Debby Does Dishes.  Both are looking forward to catering the luncheon.
Tickets are $22.00 per person.  Reservations are required.  Contact the White Lake Area Chamber of Commerce at (231) 893-4585 or toll free at (800) 879-9702.

The White Lake Area Chamber Leads Group Invites Members to Grow the Business

One of the purposes and functions of the Chamber is to connect business with community.  The Leads group is yet another way to assist and support its members.  Thanks to a group of dedicated business professionals, a committee has formed and been meeting to organize the Chamber's first Leads Group.  They have developed some guidelines and policies for a referral group to come together and meet to continue building business.

The members of the Leads Group will meet regularly to network and pass on referrals.  The structured meeting agenda provides an environment in which members develop personal relationships allowing the opportunity to increase and grow their business.  So, whether your business is newer or well-established, all of us can grow professionally by learning from other members.  There is a $75 charge for those who join the Leads Group.  This is a great way to network for referrals and promote your business.  A Leads Groups is a basic concept and is an effective program designed for networking and referral opportunities by sharing hot leads with fellow members.

Come and join us for an informational meeting!
Tuesday, May 25 from 7:30am-9:00am
at the White Lake Area Chamber of Commerce

Please call the Chamber at 893-4585 to RSVP
