A new video on using the i-Pilot for fishing. Boat control is very important to me and I have fallen in love with the i-Pilot which was difficult since I am a diehard cable steer fan. The video is at the bottom of this link page.

Drop Shot
Drop shotting or vertical fishing with a jig or livebait rig are all similar. The goal is to see the bait below the transducer. It is much easier with traditional sonar to see the bait compared to DownScan. The DownScan coverage area (cone) is narrow so it is difficult to get the bait in the cone. This image shows a sinker and a minnow above fish. One fish has moved up to take a look! The DownScan sees the fish but not the sinker or bait.
