Your Parenting Challenge:

Set a good example for your kids by not answering your cell phone while driving!

Greetings!

November is one of my favorite months!  The weather finally turns cool, fireplaces and candles are lit at night and Thanksgiving is just around the corner.  With that in mind, I want to thank each and every one of you for being a part of Operation: PARENT.  I have never met so many dedicated parents in my life!  We may not always know what the heck we're doing but we keep trying and that's what it's all about.  Let's make sure we tell our teens and pre-teens what a blessing they are in our lives this month!

A note about our fundraiser in January...
You may now go on-line and order tickets for our fundraiser.  The price will be $35.00 per ticket, however, if you order before December 1st, you pay only $25.00 per ticket!
Introducing..."Coffee Break"

Operation: PARENT Coffee Break

Ahhh...the perfect parents!  If you need a little "break" from trying to live up to June and Ward's standards, come for some good old fashioned face to face conversation with other less-than-perfect parents who are trying hard to raise great pre-teens & teens in a tough culture.  We'll start with an update on Facebook and then open the floor to hear from you.  This FREE event is open to all but please register so we know how many to expect.

Fundraising Event - January 27, 2011

Ever feel like your kids tune you out when you talk about peer pressure, choices, drinking, driving, friends, etc?  Well we guarantee they won't tune Sarah out.  Come with your teen/pre-teen and hear her life-saving, positive message while you support a great cause in the process.  Order now and save $10.00 per ticket!  Bring your basketball team, dance team, youth group, or scout troop.  Some day they'll thank you.  Operation: PARENT thanks you now!

Parenting Tip

There's one thing all teens & tweens have in common.  They're hungry!  And what better month than November to start trying to gather around the kitchen table as a family?  You don't need to fix elaborate meals to please your family but you do need to feed them!  Make it special this month by using real plates, a tablecloth and some candles.  If you order pizza, don't throw the box on the table (hide the evidence!).  Put the pizza on a platter or place slices on a plate.  If your teen has a birthday coming up, ask them what their favorite meal is and prepare it for them (you may luck out with hot dogs and tater tots...then again they may request T-bones and twice baked potatos!).  It's important to start making memories around the table so they'll be drawn back home later in life.  Even if you burn the dinner and set the smoke detector off, they'll know you tried (not that I'm speaking from experience or anything!)  C'mon...time to pull those pans out because turkey day is fast approaching!

To our new friends in Florida...

Thank you for leading the way! Since we announced your classes in Tampa, we have heard from communities in Indiana and Kansas asking how they can start Operation: PARENT classes in their schools.  To all of our parents...please talk to your out-of-town friends and family and let them know we would love to help them introduce Operation: PARENT in their school, church or business!  We want to be like "McDonalds"...an Operation: PARENT franchise on every corner serving millions of parents everywhere!  That's how you change the culture.  We need to unite parents across this country and take a stand against the toxic culture.  Thank you Tampa for showing us it can be done!
Thank you for the privilege to educate, equip, encourage and engage you as you raise your incredible pre-teens & teens!

Keep parenting,
