Hello Everyone--

Come out to the Stuyvesant Parent Association meeting this Tuesday night., October 19, 7pm.  We need your presence to select parent representatives to the PA and SLT AND to share college financial aid insights from our professional guest speaker. You'll find details below.

If you haven't yet attended a PA meeting this year, now is the time. Come at 6pm and meet other parents interested in the PA's  Academics, Appropriations, and College efforts.

Please let me know if you have any concerns or comments.  I look forward to fielding your questions and suggestions.

Sincerely,

Barbara Reiser
Corresponding Secretary

Parent Association Meeting Tuesday October 19

Elections are here
!

The Stuyvesant Parent Association elections, that is.  Elections will be held for 5 freshmen, 3 sophmore, 1 junior and 1 senior Members-at-Large, as well as 1 freshman/Title I SLT member this Tuesday night, October 19 at the PA meeting, 7pm.

This election directly affects how your donations to the annual appeal are spent because PA officeholders participate in decisions and related discussions. No room for voter apathy, here.  We need YOU to participate in your school's Parent Association elections.   Sign in for a paper ballot when you arrive in the school lobby

Come hear nationally recognized expert on educational financing, Kalman A. Chany at this week's Parent Association meeting, Tuesday night, October 19.  Mr. Chany is the founder and president of Campus Consultants, Inc., a Manhattan- based financial aid advisory firm. He is the author of the annually updated Princeton Review guidebook, Paying for College Without Going Broke. This year's 19th edition is published with a foreword by former President Bill Clinton, whose foundation in conjunction with Random House and Princeton Review publish the book.   Mr. Chany has appeared on network news programs and provided information for several major publications.

As with all invited speakers, the invitation to speak from the Parents' Association does not imply any endorsement of Mr. Chany's services.

Arrive at 6pm for conversation with other interested parents about College, Academic
Affairs and Appropriations at Stuyvesant.   (There are even coffee and snacks.)

You can contact committee chairs at these e-mail addresses:

college@stuy-pa.org -- Pam Lambert, Andrea Fastenberg, Mara Sunshine
appropriations@stuy-pa.org -- Emily Shapiro
academics@stuy-pa.org -- Alta Indelman
