You can help Stuyvesant High School be the best it can be!
This week there are two excellent opportunities for you to make the most of Stuyvesant High School.
Junior Parents! We need you to step up and serve on the PA Executive Board. PA and SLT nominations are open through tomorrow, Tuesday, October 12 with elections at our next PA meeting on October 19. Don't let the Junior class be underrepresented! Find nomination information further in this e-mail.

Coordinator Harvey Blumm want YOU to come out and represent our school
at this Thursday night's Open House for 8th grade students and their parents. See details below.

PA and SLT Nominations are open through tomorrow, October 12. Still time to strengthen Stuyvesant with your participation....
Thank you to those parents who have nominated themselves for Parent Association and School Leadership Team positions.
The School Leadership Team (SLT) needs 1 freshman parent and one
runner-up to serve as alternate. This SLT member will also help
represent the Title I needs in our school.
There are 5 freshman, 3 sophomore, 2 junior and 1 senior member-at-large seats on the PA Executive Board. We still need two junior year candidates need to step forward. Come represent your class!

Tuesday, October 12 Close of nominations for SLT and PA Executive Board members.
Thursday, October 14 4:30pm to 7:30pm Open House for prospective students and parents. Parent Coordinator Harvey Blumm needs parent volunteers to help at this week's Open House for middle school students and families. Volunteers may contact
Harvey at hblumm@schools.nyc.gov, or 212-312-4926. All assistance is greatly appreciated!
Tuesday, October 19 6pm -- Auditorium Academic Affairs committee meeting prior to PA meeting. Questions about advanced math or language choices? Are teachers sticking to assigned days for testing? Help chair, Alta Indelman, form a core group to discuss ideas for study and recommendations.
6pm -- Auditorium Faculty Reception committee meeting prior to PA meeting. Meet chair Jean Laupus and find out how you might hobnob with faculty at the Faculty Reception on October 28.
7pm -- Auditorium Parent Association meeting with PA and SLT elections. Don't miss "Paying for College" a presentation by Kalman Chany, president of Campus Consultants, a financial aid advisory firm. Mr Chany is author of the Princeton Review guidebook, Paying for College Without Going Broke. THE INVITATION TO SPEAK FROM THE PARENTS ASSOCIATION DOES NOT IMPLY ENDORSEMENT OF THE GUEST SPEAKER'S SERVICES.
Thurs Oct 28 5:30- 8p; Fri. Oct 29 1-3pm. Parent - Teacher Conferences. The PA is hosting a Faculty Reception on Thursday evening, October 28. This buffet helps fortify faculty for the Parent -Teacher conferences that evening. Desserts and volunteers, between 2pm and 7pm, are needed. Please contact Jean Laupus at jalaupus@yahoo.com
Fri morning, Oct 29 8:00am to noon. Attend your child's classes.
Upcoming
PA meetings are November 16 and December 16. All are on Tuesday nights
beginning at 7pm with refreshments at 6:30pm. Check future meeting

If you haven't done so, DO sign up for school messages, eg. weekly information from Parent Coordinator, your student's report card, special school announcements. You'll get them the quickest once you have signed up through Parent Tools on the Stuyvesant website. If you have difficulty signing up, please contact hblumm@schools.nyc.gov .

forms are a necessary part of maintaining our Title I status. EVERY
family's form counts! This year
Title I means more than a million dollars to our school. We'll work on making
the form available online at the PA web site and provide you a link
when it is.
You WILL want to hear Kal Chany speak about paying for college at the next PA meeting so MARK your calendar, Tuesday, October 19, 6:30 pm. We'll also need you to vote for new PA Executive Board and School Leadership Team members. Make it a date! |

To continue to receive a hard copy of the Bulletin in the mail, you MUST send in a request for a hard copy. You may email your request with your home address to contactPA@stuy-pa.org.
