Making the difference
First PA meeting of the year a success!

We had a terrific turnout at the first PA meeting of the year. Lots of information provided by PA chairs Alex Cai and Wai Wah Chin will also be available in the minutes you can read in next month's Bulletin.
Thank you to Principal Stan Teitel, Parent Coordinator Harvey Blumm and Big Sibs Tiana Stute, Sadie Bergen, Oren Bukspan and Colin O'Connor for presenting Tuesday night. And thanks to the many parents from ALL boroughs who attended!

Be sure to consider participating in Stuyvesant life by being a Parent Association Executive Board  member-at-large or joining a committee of interest. The School Leadership Team requires a freshman member who can also represent our school's Title I constituency. You can find nomination and contact information further in this e-mail.  There is plenty to do and a place where you can help.

Please let me know if you have any concerns or comments.  I look forward to fielding your questions and suggestions.

Barbara Reiser
Corresponding Secretary

Have you....?

If you haven't done so, DO sign up for school messages, eg. weekly information from Parent Coordinator, your student's report card, special school announcements. You'll get them the quickest once you have signed up through Parent Tools on the Stuyvesant website.

Filled out lunch forms are a necessary part of maintaining our Title I status. EVERY family's form counts! This year Title I means more than a million dollars to our school.  Forms can be picked up at Assistant Principal Archie's office. We'll work on making the form available online at the PA web site and provide you a link when it is.

You WILL want to hear Kal Chany speak about paying for college at the next PA meeting so MARK your calendar, Tuesday, October 19, 6:30 pm, right now!  We'll also need you to vote for new PA Executive Board and School Leadership Team members. Make it a date!
