Monthly PA Meeting and Annual Election

Here is the agenda for this coming Tuesday's Parents Association meeting, with approximate time-frames.

1. Approve minutes & PA budget update & vote on appropriations committee pending grant list (10 minutes)

2. Nominations committee: we only have a contested election for the position of Co-Presidents -- brief speeches by Co-President candidates before voting commences (10 minutes total)

3. Principal Teitel and SLT will report of Title 1 and call for parent vote of approval on how new Title 1 grant will be utilized (15 minutes)

4. Parent-to-parent college panel (last 45 to 60 minutes of meeting). This "college confidential" panel will discuss such issues as what the participants' experiences were like, how things went right -- or wrong, and what they might have done differently had they known what they know now.

Join us on Tuesday to hear about the Title 1 spending plan, to vote on that plan and on next year's Executive Board, and for the informative college-related panel.

Nomination for SLT election still open

In order to run for office in the June 8, 2010 SLT election, a candidate must submit a nomination form or the equivalent information to the Nominating Committee. You can do this by e-mail to nominations@stuy-pa.org , by mail, or by hand delivery to the PA Office (Stuyvesant High School Parents Association, Room 271, 345 Chambers Street, NYC 10282-1099). Nominations for the SLT election close June 1. Nomination form and full details about all SLT positions and election procedures can be found on the PA Web site at www.stuy-pa.org , or by contacting the PA Nomination Committee, care-of the PA address above.
