Greetings!
Even though our kids are on vacation this week, there is still a lot going on relating to Stuyvesant, and of course we wish best of luck to all the seniors who will be hearing from colleges this week.
Thanks so much to everyone who contributed to making the Faculty Dinner Reception such a huge success -- we wish we could name each and every one of you, but there were so many hard-working contributors that we couldn't. Please know that we really appreciate all your efforts.
Additionally, the bidding is just starting on the Lunar Feast Auction. If you have items to donate, please put them on the website, and by all means check out the great items that are available to bid on. To see the many fabulous donated items up for bid, or to donate something for the auction, please go to:
Every dollar you spend goes to support Stuyvesant!

Special presentation on stress reduction
Less sleep, more fights? Homework marathons or seeming nonchalance? Adapting to Stuyvesant's high standards can breed high pressure, especially for students and families used to easy academic excellence. How can we parents help reduce stress and foster healthy development in our children? Don't miss a special evening April 20 with distinguished child and adolescent psychiatrist Dr. Alan Schlechter of the NYU Child Study Center, followed by Q & A.
Book Fair at Tribeca Barnes & Noble
Preparing for a test? Stocking up for summer reading? From April 22-25, buy your books, CDs, DVDs, and gifts at the Barnes and Noble in TriBeCa, 97 Warren Street, and a percentage of your purchases will go to the Stuyvesant High School Parents' Association.
Use a voucher, which will be available at www.stuy-pa.org, or mention Stuyvesant High School at the cashier.

Special message from PA co-presidents
SPEAK OUT AGAINST BUDGET CUTS TO STUYVESANT and NY PUBLIC SCHOOLS! It is critically important that all parents contact their State and City Elected Officials in support of maintaining proper funding for our public schools despite the economic downturn and projected NYS and NYC budget deficits. Education is the key to our economic recovery and our elected officials must stand firm and provide the responsible leadership needed to protect our school children against devastating cuts.
1. For more information on speaking out against the cuts, please click HERE . 2. To print out a "clip-n-save" guide to learn who represents you and how to contact elected officials, please click HERE .

You Can Still Donate And Bid On Lunar Feast Auction Items Online!
As you have probably already read in previous email postings, the PA has created a first-ever Stuyvesant High School Online Auction and Donation Website to complement the Lunar Feast fundraising effort.
There's still time to give a little and get a lot in return!!! As we have previously mentioned, the online auction has been extended to April 11. Please show your support by going to the online to auction site: www.biddingforgood.com/stuy-pa and click on the "Donate Items" button to contribute to our catalog, or by clicking on "Donate Cash".
The extended bidding dates are March 28 6pm - April 11th at 6pm.
Whether you have 1 item or 100 to contribute, your participation is an invaluable part of our fund-raising efforts for the school. By donating an item or service directly online, you'll be helping to raise money for our school, and you'll receive a mention on our site that can link back to your own web page.
We strongly encourage everyone to donate through the website. However, if that is not possible, donations can be dropped off at the office of Harvey Blumm, the wonderful Stuyvesant Parent Coordinator (Room 273 at Stuyvesant) or at the offices of Miriam Chan at 221 Canal Street, Room 303. A donation form must accompany all items dropped off. All Lunar Dinner Forms can be found at the Stuy PA website at: www.stuy-pa.org.

The ceremony will begin at 11:30 a.m. The Palace Theater is located on Broadway at 175th Street in Manhattan.
