Greetings!
It's always inspiring to see parents step up and volunteer to help the Stuyvesant community, and we are grateful to sophomore parents Wei Wah Chin and Bill Kaczmarek; as mentioned below, both will be participating in Assistant Treasurer functions.
We continue to work on the March 19 Lunar Feast, which has a great new location, and you can donate online to the Lunar Dinner Raffle and Silent Auction -- see the announcement below for details. If you have questions or ideas about the Lunar Feast, please contact LunarFeast2010@stuy-pa.org or one of the email addresses provided below.
And there are always opportunities to participate -- in addition to big projects like joining the PA Executive Board or working on the Lunar Feast, you can also help out with other events as they happen -- think about volunteering at the pre-conference faculty dinner reception or sending in books for the Project Cicero book drive!
Sincerely,
Florence Hutner Corresponding Secretary

Congratulations to our new Assistant Treasurer and parent volunteer!
Thanks to Wei Wah Chin and Bill Kaczmarek We were fortunate enough to have two sophomore parents express interest in serving as the PA assistant treasurer for the rest of this school year, and we're especially lucky that both will be working on this function for the PA. Wei Wah Chin was approved by motion at the February 23 PA meeting to serve as our new official Assistant Treasurer; she will be assisted by Bill Kaczmarek in filling this job. Thanks to both of you! |
March 1-4
Book Drive to benefit under-resourced NYC schools
From Monday, March 1st through Thursday, March 4th, students from public and private schools around the city will collect new and gently used books in their schools to help Project Cicero (www.projectcicero.org). Project Cicero is a literacy nonprofit that runs a citywide book drive each year to help under-resourced NYC public schools create classroom and school libraries. The Stuyvesant community has been an active and valuable participant for the past six years, and has contributed more books than any other school in the city! Please bring your gently used books (K-12) to Stuy from March 1 through 4, and drop them in the boxes located on the second floor down the hall from the bridge entrance. Contact Stuy students and Project Cicero student reps Valeriya Tsitron, villainous@gmail.com or Lea Beltramino, leabeltramino@yahoo.com with questions. Project Cicero is affiliated with Teach for America, New York City Teaching Fellows, Children for Children, and a consortium of student and parent volunteers around the city.
