Wecome back from vacation!
We are still working hard on the Lunar Feast, and you can now donate to the Lunar Dinner Raffle and Silent Auction, which is now online -- see details below. This is a great time to approach possible donors - restaurants, museums, boutiques, your child's tutor, your gym or hair salon or spa... If you have questions or ideas about the Lunar Feast, please contact LunarFeast2010@stuy-pa.org.
Also note that the vacancy for the Assistant Treasurer position on the Executive Board will be filled at the PA meeting on Tuesday evening February 23 -- look at the notice below and see if this might be a good fit for you or another Stuy parent you know.

Parents are encouraged to bring a dessert or appetizer dish reflecting their cultural heritage to share at the meeting. The PA will provide coffee, tea, and beverages.
Thursday March 18
Spring Faculty Reception
The Spring Faculty Reception is on March 18th. We need parent volunteers to help make this event happen. To sign up, please contact Jenny Cho at: jennycho_26@hotmail.com .
Please specify which shift(s) you can cover:
- Set up and serve: 2:30 P.M.-5:00 P.M.
- Serve and cleanup: 3:30 P.M.-6:00 P.M.
We are also asking parents to send in desserts for the reception. Please have your students bring them on the day of the reception (March 18th) to the PA room (Room 271).

Lunar Feast and Auction fundraiser update
Donate to the Lunar Dinner raffle and silent auction -- win a gift card!
Everyone who donates a gift to the Lunar Feast raffle and silent auction will be entered in a drawing for a $50 Best Buy gift card at the February 23 PA meeting. For every prize donation tendered at or before the time of the meeting, the donor will get a raffle ticket for the drawing. You do NOT need to be present to win.
Auction Online
The silent auction is also running online from March 14-March 28, and is being held as a fundraiser in conjunction with the Lunar Feast Dinner on March 19th. We are inviting all parents, friends and family to participate as a sponsor, donator, bidder, etc.
Note that this auction site is live for donations now, so please start uploading your donations as soon as you can! You do have to wait until March 14 to start bidding, but it would be great to get items listed as soon as possible.

Special Election at February 23 PA Meeting
LAST CHANCE to fill Assistant Treasurer vacancy We currently have a vacancy on the PA Executive Board for the position of Assistant Treasurer (AT), and we are calling for a special election at the February 23 PA General Meeting to accept nominations and hold an election for a new AT. We are earnestly seeking a willing and able parent to fill this critical role; basic knowledge of Excel and QuickBooks is required. The Open House for prospective Stuy students that was postponed by the snow day has been rescheduled to Monday February 22 from 5-8. Volunteers are still needed for the Open House! Contact Parent Coordinator Harvey Blumm at hblumm@stuy.edu.

First week of March
Junior College advisements
Junior college advisements will begin during the first week of March. Instructions for signing up will become available very soon at the school website, www.stuy.edu, and the PA website, www.stuy-pa.org. We will also send out information by email as we receive it. Note that reservations for these after-school sessions will be first-come first-serve. (We are also pleased to note that that this resource is supported by PA funds from last year's Lunar Feast.)

A special meeting for Junior parents only is scheduled for March 25th at 6:30 P.M. College Office Coordinator, Pat Cleary, and the college counselors will present an overview of the college application process. |

The latest Parents' Association Bulletin is on the PA website, at www.stuy-pa.org . The January issue includes articles on the differences between the SAT and the ACT, updates on the State and City budget cuts and the impact on the Stuy school budget, and a special invitation to all Stuy parents to attend the 7th annual New Year Lunar Feast gala celebration.
