Chinese Outreach Committee Meeting
The topics of this meeting will be:
1. The positive and negative impacts on high school students and what parents should be aware of, to be addressed by Ms. Tsui.
2. Summer jobs available and what parents should know about, to be addressed by guidance counselor Jeromy Wong.
Annual Lunar New Year Planning Meeting
There will be a meeting at 6 pm at Stuyvesant for parents who wish to volunteer their time to help with the Lunar Dinner.

Stuyvesant Open House
Parent volunteers are still needed at this annual event for students accepted to next year's incoming freshman class. To assist, contact Stuyvesant Parent Coordinator Harvey Blumm at hblumm@stuy.edu .
Discount ice-skating in Battery Park City
The temporary rink two blocks from Stuy in Battery Park City will be there until February 15. The operator has offered to give students a discount on school days between 3-6pm: $7 admission and $9 admission plus skate rental. (The prices are normally $10 and $13 respectively.) What a great way for the kids to unwind and have fun!

English Department Opens New Writing Center The new Writing Center located in the school library will be open during all periods every day beginning Monday February 8. Assistant Principal of English Eric Grossman encourages all students to use this resource to support and improve their writing skills.
Students are welcome to bring writing assignments from any class, not just their English classes. Volunteer graduate students in Education will provide individual assistance to supplement classroom writing instruction. |

Artistic Director and Choreographer Jody Sperling (Stuyvesant '88) and Time Lapse Dance have intrigued audiences for the past decade with visual and kinetic routines that integrate experimental dance, circus arts, and light spectacles.
