Call the McIlvoy House, 303-431-1261, or stop by the "Mc" to purchase your tickets. Space is limited so we encourage you to reserve your space soon for this fun event. All proceeds benefit the Arvada Historical Society. The Arvada SOCO (Special Olympics Colorado) Committee is looking for members from the community to organize a community run/walk (distance and all details TBD) to benefit SOCO. The goal is to have an event annually which would serve as a qualifying event for the Boulder Boulder (to attract more people) and to be great family fun for all, eventually drawing thousands of participants to our city. We are in the very beginning stages. So, the time commitment would be great at first. We anticipate that the committee would need to meet once a week between now and the race (hopefully before the Boulder Boulder, May 28, 2012). However, we need volunteers of all kinds including those who cannot commit to committee membership, but can assist with tasks on an as-needed basis. Besides volunteers, we are also seeking vendors and sponsors. The committee would also like to hear from the community input on all aspects of this exciting work in progress. For background information on SOCO please visit specialolympicsco.org. Committee needs to be secure by February 14th. If you are interested in helping or have any comments, suggestions, etc. please contact Detective Kelli Scherer of the Arvada Police Department at (720) 898-6716 or via e-mail at kelli-s@arvada.org. Thank you for your consideration!
