The Arvada Business Zone is brought to you by Arvada Chamber of Commerce and Marketing Huddle.  We decided to launch a radio show to bring this to life by interviewing Arvada Chamber of Commerce members about their business and how it started, along with all the frequently asked questions they get from customers just like you!
This will be a fun &  informative format where you will be able to learn much more about the business than just the few words you'd see in an advertisement!
Also, you will be able to learn from Arvada Leadership about the direction Arvada is moving, and be able to share your ideas as well.

Committee Meetings
Joining a committee is a great way to get involved and take a leadership role in the Arvada Chamber of Commerce.  If you, or someone in your organization, is interested in being involved in one of these committees, add us to your calendar.  These committees meet once a month for about an hour.

GAClogoThe next Government Affairs Committee meeting will be held on Friday, February 3rd at 10:00am at the Arvada Chamber of Commerce.  The Government Affairs Committee of the Arvada Chamber of Commerce is comprised of representatives from a diverse mixture of Chamber members, who review proposed ordinances, statutes and regulations to evaluate their potential impact on members of the Chamber.  The Committee recommends support or opposition of these to the Chamber Board of Directors.

AYPlogo100wThe next Arvada Young Professionals meeting will be held on Thursday, January 12th at 9:00AM at Personal Benefit Services Wealth Management.

The Arvada Young Professional Group (AYP) is a meaningful networking organization of talented, up-an-coming young professionals who are dedicated to building a better Arvada. Apex Park and Recreation Foundation  Sweetheart Silent Auction Friday, February 10th
Indian Tree Clubhouse
7555 Wadsworth Blvd, Arvada
6pm-10pm (auction begins to close at 9pm)  Tickets are $25 per person and includes two drinks (wine or beer), appetizers from Indian Tree Clubhouse Restaurant, dessert bar sponsored by Das Meyer Fine Pastry Chalet and gourmet coffee bar.
Proceeds support several projects planned for 2012 including:
*An upper body ergometer and rehabilitation program at the Apex Center for clients with lower body injuries

Rural/Metro-Pridemark Ambulance will hold a three-day blood drive to benefit the pediatric patients of Children's Hospital Colorado.

An average of 32 donations is needed each day to ensure an adequate supply of blood for patient needs.  Donors must sign up at www.ruralmetrocolorado.com, in the Newsroom section.  For safety reasons, the Children's Hospital Colorado Blood Donor Center asks that donors consider the following guidelines, when signing up to donate.
Please Do Not Donate, if:
* You currently have or are getting over a cold.
* You weigh less than 110 pounds.
* You are less than 17-years-old (17-year-old donors must have a consent form signed.)
* You have had a tattoo or piercing in the past 12 months.
* You have traveled outside of the U.S. in a malaria risk area in the last 12 months.
* You are currently taking an antibiotic or any other medications for an infection.
* Please ask us regarding diseases and medications.
When Donating, Remember to:
* Eat the morning of your donation.
* Stay well-hydrated.
* Bring photo ID.
The blood donated to Children's Hospital Colorado will directly benefit the kids at the hospital.  "Our mission and purpose is to take care of the sick and injured," says Rural/Metro-Pridemark PIO, Courtney Morehouse.  "Hosting a blood drive is one of the many ways we can help.  At the end of the day, we want them be able to be kids and enjoy their childhood.  If giving blood helps them get healthy and return home, we're all for it," says Morehouse.
