Wednesday, August 31st 2:30pm & 3:30pm. Starting at 2:30pm, the City of Arvada and Historic Olde Town Arvada will open the model of RTD's commuter rail train of the future and host an ice cream social in Olde Town Square (Olde Wads & 57th Avenue). A street fair featuring local businesses and entertainment will follow the groundbreaking program. The Full Funding Grant Agreement Ceremony and Gold Line Groundbreaking will begin at 3:30pm on Grandview Avenue at Webster.

Committee Meetings
Joining a committee is a great way to get involved and take a leadership role in the Arvada Chamber of Commerce. If you, or someone in your organization, is interested in being involved in one of these committees, add us to your calendar. These committees meet once a month for about an hour.
 The next Government Affairs Committee meeting will be held on Friday, September 2nd at 10:00am at the Arvada Chamber of Commerce. The Government Affairs Committee of the Arvada Chamber of Commerce is comprised of representatives from a diverse mixture of Chamber members, who review proposed ordinances, statutes and regulations to evaluate their potential impact on members of the Chamber. The Committee recommends support or opposition of these to the Chamber Board of Directors.
 The next Arvada Young Professionals meeting will be held on Thursday, September 8th at 10:00AM at Personal Benefit Services Wealth Management. Personal Benefit Services is located at 5620 Ward Road, Suite 100 in Arvada. The Arvada Young Professional Group (AYP) is a meaningful networking organization of talented, up-an-coming young professionals who are dedicated to building a better Arvada. We are made up of motivated, energetic young professionals certain to become Arvada's future leaders. Our primary purpose is to sponsor, promote, and support social activities involving members of the Arvada business community. AYP offers its members a way to link their personal passions with professional ambitions.  The next Member Retention Committee meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 6th at 10:00AM at the Chamber. The Membership Retention Committee will work with members to encourage participation in current chamber activities and develop new opportunities to be involved. Businesses that are involved are more likely to be successful. |

The Arvada Chamber of Commerce is seeking nominations for the Board of Directors. The Director is a three year term on the Board for the Arvada Chamber of Commerce. Applications are due August 31st. September 1st we will compile all the information and create a ballot of the applicants. Every Chamber member will receive a board ballot and will vote for members they would like to see represent them on the board. All applicants must be a member in good standing with the Arvada Chamber of Commerce. Costco (Wadsworth & 52nd) is going to be offering a flu shot program through their pharmacy to companies that would like to vaccinate their employees at a cost of $20 per shot compared to $25 at other facilities. The Arvada Chamber does have leads/networking groups. Call the Arvada Chamber and see if there is an opening in your industry. Olde Town Farmer's Market - Sundays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 5 thru September 25, Olde Town Arvada. There is a second Farmer's Market on Wednesday afternoons from 4pm - 7pm at Echter's Greenhouses, Inc. 9170 W. 52nd Avenue in Arvada. This Farmer's Market will run through September as well. The 2011 Arvada Harvest Festival Parade is coming up! You and your business are invited to join this great community event. There are opportunities of every size, allowing a perfect fit for your business' participation. The parade theme for 2011 is Science Fiction and Science.
