 What a fun networking event! Imagine how cool the Arvada Chamber of Commerce building will look with lights outlining the roof and front porch. We need your help to make that happen. Join us at the First Annual Light Up the Arvada Chamber of Commerce Networking Event!We definitely need at least one person to bring an extension ladder. Email Dot@ArvadaChamber.org or call the Chamber at 303-424-0313 if you've got one that you can bring with you. We've got some lights. If you have extra lights hanging around, bring those with you... we could really get creative with even more lights.  Even more creative: Historic Olde Town Arvada is having a contest for the best decorated window in Olde Town. I think we should be able to be a contender in this contest with all the creative, fabulous Chamber Members we've got. If you are interested, bring your ideas and some props with you for that part of the decor. Did I mention hot chocolate and cupcakes? I make the best cupcakes. Okay - Denise might make cupcakes a little bit better than me. We'll both make cupcakes for you and have hot chocolate and coffee as well.  We will need to know about how many of you will be there for this First Annual Lighting of the Arvada Chamber Networking Event so we know how many cupcakes to make. Colorado Gives Day
Help Ralston House by donating through GivingFirst.org on December 8 - Colorado Gives Day. Ralston House is a local non-profit agency in Arvada helping children heal from abuse and tell their stories of victimization in a safe, child-friendly environment. Ralston House is planning a Give Rally on December 8 at Bread Winners Catering 4pm - 6pm (7311 Grandview Ave, Arvada). Keep watching www.ralstonhouse.net for more details. Colorado Gives Day is a new initiative to increase philanthropy in Colorado through online giving. Presented by Community First Foundation and FirstBank, Colorado Gives Day will take place on Wednesday, December 8, 2010, and donations will be accepted through the website, GivingFirst.org. The Colorado Gives Day Incentive Fund is a pool of dollars that will be used as an incentive to encourage donations from the public and increase the value of each donation made on December 8. The Incentive Fund will be proportionally allocated across all donations received through GivingFirst.org on Colorado Gives Day. Donations collected on this website can benefit not only Ralston House, but also other non-profit agencies in Colorado. The Santa House is organized by AWRSAY (Arvada Wheat Ridge Service Ambassadors for Youth) and is located at 9518 W 58th Avenue in Arvada. Last year the Santa House made the holidays happier for more than 3,000 local children. To take part, bring items to the Apex Center, Garrison Sports Center, the Community Recreation Center, Meyers Pool or the Racquetball and Fitness Center by DECEMBER 17th.
