Happy New Year!
As one year draws to a close and another begins, I wanted to take a moment to share with our members and the community some of our accomplishments during 2009. During the last year the Arvada Chamber of Commerce has proven that we are not a conventional business organization. The Arvada Chamber of Commerce grew by over 150 members and our retention is at a five year high.
While some other organization's are cancelling or downsizing events and programs the Arvada Chamber of Commerce has experienced growth in our networking and social events and has added new programs such as a 5th LEADS group and a Leadership Arvada program to support and promote our members as well as develop future business leaders in our community.
2009 was a year of change and adaptation for many of our businesses. What makes us different is a culmination of having staff, volunteers, ambassadors and business leaders that understand the chamber creates a business climate of interconnected businesses and organizations whose whole is more than the sum of its parts. Simply put, we are stronger together than alone.
No matter if you're in the retail, technology, bioscience, manufacturing or the service sector, the marketplace is getting so competitive that one company may not be able to master the business on their own. Being a power partner with the chamber and our members gives you a competitive advantage. This collaboration fosters sharing, knowledge, innovation, entrepreneurship and growth.
Successful businesses also recognize that being part of and giving back to your community is paramount. The Arvada Chamber of Commerce is proud to have been able to support the Arvada Food Bank, AWRSAY, HOTA and other worthy causes in our community over the last year. Your membership made a difference in the lives of many in our community who needed help. Thank you.
Our goal for 2009 was to "pop the top" and add a new level. We contributed to the growth and success of hundreds of organizations in Arvada and regionally over the last year. In 2010 we will continue to foster a business climate that will build on the incredible successes of 2009.
