Happy Father's Day

The Ohio Commission on Fatherhood (OCF) would like to wish all Ohio Fathers a Happy Father's Day. Good fathers, whether biological, foster or adoptive, deserve our honor and gratitude.

You can always find information about upcoming events of interest to fathers and families on our website.  In recognition of Father's Day there are many special events happening around the state this month.   On June 30th, the Ohio Commission on Fatherhood is co-sponsoring a Fatherhood Summit in Columbus called 'Healthy Fathers, Wealthy Families".

Please visit our website for a complete list of events at www.fatherhood.ohio.gov.

Message to Fathers from ODJFS Director

Too often fathers don't realize how important they are. Whether they know it or not, however, fathers are extremely influential figures in their children's lives. Research shows that children with involved fathers are more secure, more confident, have better social connections and do better in school. They're less likely to use drugs, live in poverty or get in trouble with the law. My father has been instrumental in every success that I have had. He has been my mentor and friend, and we remain very close to this day.

Father's Day is an excellent time to let fathers everywhere know how important they are. Let's use this time to show all the committed, engaged fathers we know how much they're appreciated. Let's also help spread the word about the vital role fathers play in their children's development, and in their futures.
