Having just returned home from a joyful adventure in Canada, we are reminded of how grateful we are for the new friends we meet in the John of Peniel work. Everywhere John speaks, minds and hearts are opened to the possibilities with his message: "The path is simple - BE LOVE." How can you "be love" today?

Who is in control?

I am always confronted by limiting beliefs while doing healing work. One that struck me recently was someone telling me "things happen." As she said the words, all I could hear that she believed she had no part in the creation of her life. No matter what we discussed and how I exposed her belief she hung on to arguing in its defense. I explained to her what I believe and that experiences happen as a product of our belief. She held fast. She told me she was really good at manifesting, but felt that "things just happen."
Another person at the meeting offered the suggestion of "if that's what God wants for me." I find this also an interesting point of view, because this means that "things happen" if God wants them to. I have read the Bible through and through and I will say that when you read the Old Testament you are inundated with a wrathful judgmental God. But the New Testament alters the perspective: "God is Love" is the concept brought forth. All the other teachings tell of the power within and that you have the power to "move mountains," if you just believe.
The various spiritual teachers of the past all tell us the power is within us. This being said, we also have the power to create a state of being out of control. This frustrating experience is of our own making. We decide that "things happen," and the Universe responds in kind with random experiences. If I believe that "positive things happen," then my creation is more specific and the Universe responds positively. But when most people say the words they are focused on the negative aspects and so the things are negative.
The woman at the meeting told tales of having to be prepared for "things." She felt she "had to be ready for when the other shoe fell." She shared a home improvement tale of woe. After the meeting I was told by another person that through the whole process she had stated things like, "I hope nothing happens," and "we'll see how this turns out." Her words shared her belief and so her manifestation was a negative experience.
Who is in control? In the Bible it says what you ask for you will receive if you have faith. It never said that God was deciding. It also says, "Ask and you shall receive." Remember that YOU are the one asking. The Universe/God is the unlimited supplier and asking is through our belief/faith. You are the creator of your experience it was the promise given to you. Just create wisely.

Book Review

Jesus Religion by Louis Charles
I found this book a fascinating read. For me the origins of words and their meanings is just intriguing. Louis makes many valid points about the religion that sprung up around Jeshua and how many of the tenets are contrary to his original teaching. There are areas of this book that I am not sure I agree with, but found a great amount of information that I find useful in my own teachings. I suggest reading the book and forming your own opinions about its subject. It might just be an eye opener for you on your spiritual path.

The Healer makes house calls! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As his schedule permits, John Davis is now offering home visits for counseling or healing. If you live within a forty mile radius of Medina, Ohio, John will come to you for a one-hour consultation, for a fee of $150. This is ideal for those who may be ill or infirm who cannot easily get to a public venue to see him.
In addition, you can hold a healing gathering in your home or other venue. If you have friends and family who would benefit by a session with John, he will come to your gathering for a fee of $50 per half hour healing appointment. Attendance can be as few as five or as many as ten people.

Peniel Action Steps - Further Direction

Our last newsletter had us assess where we are in our creation and to find the areas of unrest. This month, examine each of these areas and daydream about the perfect experience that you could have in these areas. See it in fine detail and imagine the feeling behind the having of it. Focus your mind fully on the new pattern you are creating and move forward with the actions that are in alignment with that goal. Do something every day towards that goal and soon you will have to set another goal, because that one will already be achieved.
