| Greetings! |
Summer's here !
It's such a great time of year. We enjoy the outdoors so much more -- long walks, going to the beach, outdoor sports, patios, gardening. I hope you feel the same way.
At Pande Family Wellness Centre, we're busy during the summer months as well. We like to keep our patients in top form so that they can get the most out of their summer. We hope to see you some time over the next month or two. If you need an adjustment around that time or want to see any of our practitioners, please call our office to schedule an appointment. Enjoy your summer!

HST at Pande Family Wellness Centre
| |
As you are aware, the Ontario government has implemented the Harmonized Sales Tax in our province. Effective July 1, 2010 goods and services are now subject to a combined 5% PST plus the 8% GST for a total of 13% HST on certain goods and services. The change for all of you, is that some of the services at Pande Family Wellness Centre are now required to charge HST of 13%.
So, starting July 1, 2010, the following practitioners will be charging HST:
- Nutrition Counselling - Aviva Allen
- Holistic Allergy Treatment - Dana Zangari
- Homeopathic Treatment - Joy Burlton
- Psychotherapy - Beth Stevenson / Andrea Brassard
- Registered Massage Therapy
Please note that Chiropractic treatment and Custom Orthotics from Dr. Maya are exempt from HST. However, HST is chargeable on some other products Dr. Maya may sell (such as the Hip Seat mentioned below). |
The Hip Seat
| The Hipseat child carrier has been developed to allow an adult to carry a child on her/his hip without the usual strains on her/his back.
Specifically designed to address one of the root causes of adult back pain, the Hipseat child carrier provides a firm place for the child to sit and supports the child's increasingly heavy weight from underneath. Instead of twisting the spine, the back is able to stay straight and the child is tucked into the chest on whichever side is more comfortable for the wearer.
SPECIAL: Buy a Hipseat during the month of July for only $65.00 + HST (regular $87.00). To order, call or visit our office and provide your credit card details and information to the receptionist.

Are you Drinking Enough Water? by Aviva Allen, RHN
|
The
human body is made up of more than seventy percent water. It is beyond
question that the benefits of drinking sufficient water each day go far
beyond simply quenching thirst.
Water is critical to almost every aspect of a person's health
including regulating body temperature, bringing oxygen to the cells and
removing waste from the body. Not drinking enough water on
a daily basis can
cause headaches, fatigue, dry skin and constipation.
Dehydration can also negatively affect blood pressure, circulation,
digestion and kidney function. Here are five tips to help you drink more
water: - If you are on the go, carry a
full water bottle with you at all times.
- If you are sitting at
work, keep a glass of water at your desk and drink throughout the day.
Refill often.
- If you tend to forget to drink water, set an
alarm on your watch, computer or hand-held device to remind you to take a
drink every half hour.
- If you don't like the taste of tap
water, try adding lemon/lime or drink filtered water. If you enjoy the
taste of your water, you will be more likely to drink it.
- Avoid caffeinated beverages as they will dehydrate you.
Note:
Drink the majority of your water between meals - drinking too much
liquid with meals will impair your digestion, particularly cold liquids
(Sipping room temperature water with meals is okay).
|
| , I hope you have an active and busy summer planned, with many opportunities to enjoy this beautiful country and perhaps some others. Keep your spine safe while travelling, and if you find you need a little help with that, please call our office for an appointment.
Sincerely,
|
