| Greetings! |
I hope you are enjoying your summer and the warmer weather that has finally arrived!
Over the last few weeks we've made a few changes at our clinic. We've completely updated our website with new information and made it more user- friendly (a snapshot is below). We even have a blog! Take a look at www.pande.ca when you have a few minutes and let us know what you think!
CJ Paterson, our Registered Massage Therapist, has extended her hours as of June 1st. She is taking appointments Monday to Friday, with early morning and evening appointments available.
Starting July 1st, I will be taking Saturdays off. I will now be seeing patients on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 am to 6:30 pm.
We'd also like to extend a warm welcome to Sabina and Angela! Our current front desk assistants, Jennifer and Sheila, are both taking the summer off so Sabina will be working in the mornings and Angela will be taking over in the afternoon.
Lots of changes, all to serve you better! We look forward to seeing you again soon.
All the best, Dr. Maya Pande

An Exciting New Approach to Allergy Relief
|
by Dana Zangari, B.A., RHN, RNCP, RhA Over
the past few decades, allergies have been steadily, if not
alarmingly, on the rise in North America. Amazingly, one out of every
three North Americans is affected by at least one allergy. Many
people are looking for more natural ways to treat their allergies.
Now, there is an incredibly effective new way to deal with all the
symptoms of allergy. It is called BioEnergetic
Intolerance Elimination (BIE).
BIE uses Biofeedback
Analysis or muscle response testing. A particular muscle is isolated
and exposed to a specific substance (all in sealed vials) to
determine either a positive or negative response. This form of
testing is painless, accurate and safe to use and therefore is ideal
for children or anyone not comfortable with the sight of needles.
Once
the intolerances have been determined, a
low electronic frequency is transmitted directly onto various
acupressure points (without the invasive use of needles) on the body
to stimulate and clear any blockages in energy. During this
procedure, the client is exposed to the allergen's energetic
frequencies. When this procedure is complete, the body no longer sees
the allergen as a threat when exposed to it and therefore the
offending substances cease to produce further adverse reactions.
BioEnergetic
Intolerance Elimination (BIE) is already helping thousands of people
find relief from dangerous anaphylactic reactions to nuts, gluten and
dairy intolerances as well as environmental, pet and dust allergies.
BIE typically only
requires one to six sessions for any particular substance to
experience complete relief from symptoms.
To find out how BIE can
help with your allergies, contact our office to book a consultation

The Benefit of Orthotics
|
Othotics can provide relief for painful foot problems or an injury, but may also benefit people who must walk or stand for a long time while on the job. Those involved in sports often find that orthotics increases endurance, performance and strength. For overweight individuals, orthotics can help to counteract the extra stress on the feet caused by the extra weight.
Seniors who may have developed arthritis in their feet find orthotics are particularly effective in relieving foot fatigue and the discomfort caused by arthritis. Orthotics may also be prescribed for children who have a foot deformity.
To learn more about Orthotics, click here to read our Blog article. Contact our office to book an appointment with Dr. Maya Pande to discuss whether orthotics can help you.

How
to Lose Weight and Keep it Off |
by Aviva Allen, R.H.N.
FACT:
Over 90% of all conventional attempts at weight loss fail.
In
my experience, the more drastic the diet, the harder it is to stick
to it. I believe in a gradual approach to
making changes in the diet. Making changes too quickly can be hard on
the body and very difficult to maintain. My strategy for weight loss
focuses on improving overall health and quality of life.
Here
are the key points:
-
Set
realistic Goals - While
some people will lose 5 lbs in the first week, most of which is
water, an average of 1-2 lbs per week is a healthy amount of weight
to lose. If it took months or years to put the weight on, it is
unreasonable to expect to lose it all within a few weeks!
-
Dietary
changes -
Completely cutting out important foods such as protein, carbohydrates
or fats is a common mistake. It is important to find the right
balance of these foods and choose those which are unprocessed and
unrefined. Introducing new, healthful foods into the diet is just as
important as reducing the unhealthy ones.
-
Detoxification
- making
sure your body can properly eliminate toxins is very important when
trying to lose weight. Using specific herbs to cleanse the body can
improve your metabolism and allow your liver and other organs to
function more efficiently.
-
Improve
digestion - An
impaired digestive system will affect how well your body breaks down
food and absorbs nutrients as well as how quickly it can eliminate
toxins.
-
Movement
- Some
form of physical activity is an important aspect of reaching and
maintaining your
healthy body weight. Find an activity you enjoy- whether it's playing
a sport, taking a yoga class or simply walking.
-
Raise
energy levels - A
person struggling with excess weight may also suffer from low energy
levels. Ensure your body is receiving the proper nutrients to help
you feel energized!
If
you look at your "diet" as a temporary measure and plan to
return to your old eating habits once the desired
weight is achieved, you will likely fail. Maintaining weight loss
requires a permanent lifestyle change.
It's a life-long commitment to taking care of your body.
