Did You Know?
College and career readiness doesn't just begin in high school. Beginning in January, 2012, Yonkers Partners in Education (YPIE) will pilot an exciting new initiative funded by the JP Morgan Chase Foundation and the Lanza Family Foundation to get kids and families thinking about college beginning in middle school. Julie Arias, the new YPIE Middle School College Advisor, will begin working in four Yonkers schools to help prepare 7th graders for life in high school and beyond. Welcome to the YPIE team, Julie, and how lucky our junior high students are to have you!

What's on the Market?
27 Troy Lane, Yonkers
No matter what's happening in the real estate market, I consistently get my sellers the highest price. They get more $$$ and their homes are on the market fewer days and sell closer to the listing price than other properties in Yonkers. (Based on EAMLS statistics) |

The Saw Mill River Sees the Light of Day in Downtown Yonkers. All of the construction in Larkin Plaza has made way for the daylighting of the Saw Mill River in what used to be the parking lot in front of the DMV. The first phase of the project is complete and the river is flowing freely through it new man-made landscaped channel, complete with a rocky waterfall. The next phase, to be completed next spring, will bring trees and flowers to the riverbanks as well as areas for musical p erformances, ecology workshops, a family reading area and wireless internet. Even in its current unfinished state, it's pretty amazing to see this wonderful new outdoor space in downtown Yonkers.
