Report from the Deputation of the Diocese of Milwaukee to the 77th General Convention of the Episcopal Church

"When they had prayed, the place in which they were gathered was shaken;

and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit

and spoke the word of God with boldness."   Acts 4:31

And pray we most certainly did! The Milwaukee deputation served you well, with prayerful hearts and attentive minds to the multitude of debates and conversations going on throughout the nine days of General Convention.

The members of the deputation to GC are committed to informing the people of our diocese, as best we can, about what transpired at the 77th General Convention of the Episcopal Church. We have learned that post-convention hearings don't always meet the need of communicating information about General Convention. With this learning in mind, the deputies will be working with Bishop Miller and his staff to provide opportunities for conversations throughout the diocese in the coming months. We are also willing to come to your parish (or groups from multiple parishes) for conversations and presentations.

Initially, we will be offering a series of articles through the eNews, covering topics we believe to be of interest and value to the people of Diocese of Milwaukee. Our intention is to provide you with adequate information about the more significant events and resolutions of GC so that you are able gather more information about the topics that may be of interest or relevant to your parish community.

          The Great Hunger Book Sale at

For more than 30 years, The Hunger Book Sale, has been feeding the hungry by donating its proceeds to local and world hunger funds.

Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Sun Prairie invites you to attend our Corn Festival August 16 - 19th.  Our city hosts a parade through the downtown on Thursday night at 6 p.m. followed by the opening of our Good Shepherd Booth selling root beer floats and pulled pork sandwiches.  And, of course, steamed corn!  Pick

Taize prayer service set for July 29 in Waukesha

The next Taize prayer service will be held at First Presbyterian Church in Waukesha on Sunday, July 29 at 7:30 pm. First Presbyterian Church is located at 810 N. East Ave in Waukesha.  The musicians of First Presbyterian, St. Matthias Episcopal, St. Joesph's Roman Catholic and other churches will combine to lead this service.A light reception is planned after the service. Choir members or musicians who wish to assist in the musical leadership should be at the church by 6:00 p.m. for the musician rehearsal.

Taiz� is an international, ecumenical movement of prayer.  Taiz� services are contemplative in nature and consist of music, readings, and periods of silence.  See http://stmatthiasonline.org/taize.php for more information.The intention is to still the soul in order to invite the presence of God into our lives to bring peace and unity.
