Bishop Miller Visits St. James, West Bend to celebrate Trinity Sunday
By Chris Aliota, Senior Warden
What a beautiful day God provided on Sunday, June 3rd a fitting gift for a new day that was dawning in the lives of our newly Confirmed and received. Bishop Miller spent time with the candidates prior to the Service and greeted one and all who came to join and support them in their special day. Confirmed were Miles and Beau Davila, Becca Giesen, Carl Harris and Jennifer Gorecki-Nix. Received were Julie Harris, Jayne Davila and Jackie Granger. He gave a wonderful sermon on the Trinity, gave a special blessing to Fr. Richard Craig and Deacon Cathy Milliken who were celebrating their 22nd and 5th Anniversaries to the Ordained Ministry of the Diaconate, respectively, and stayed for a fabulous Reception and fellowship that followed. Thank you to all who were instrumental in this most glorious day!

Community of Hope Training Coming Soon
Community of Hope (COH) is an opportunity to create a Christian community of lay pastoral care givers equipped for pastoral ministry. Pastoral care is when a per-son is being "present" in a listening, compassionate, non-controlling manner to an individual or group for the purpose of consciously or unconsciously representing God to them and seeking to respond to their spiritual needs. COH is united in prayer and shaped by Benedictine spirituality. The 12-week training session includes an annual retreat and continued support for the lay chaplains.
St. Bartholomew Episcopal Church is a training center for COH. The next session begins in September on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:00p.m. Applications, interviews, and recommendations from pastors or priests are part of this process. more info |

Women of Faith - October 5-6, 2012
Gayle Radavich, Director of Christian Education at St Thomas of Canterbury in Greendale, says: You've never seen Women of Faith like this before! We all experience good times and bad days, triumphs and tragedies. But no matter what life throws at you, this is what matters: God loves YOU. (Always has. Always will.) You're invited to be part of a very special celebration. Compelling stories, Bible-based teaching, world-class music, unstoppable inspiration, and a few surprises combine for an experience like no other. God loves you! And that means there is always a reason to celebrate.
Our soul waits for the LORD; He is our help and our shield. For our heart shall rejoice in Him, because we have trusted in His holy name. Psalm 33:20-21 NKJV
My friends and I from St Thomas will be attending for the third year. It has been great fun and has brought us closer to one another as a church community, as well as building stronger friendships. I strongly urge you to go to the website, www.womenoffaith.com and watch the video, see the line-up, and order your tickets! There are standard and premium seats, along with discounts for 10 or more people.

WHAT IN THE WORLD ARE YOU DOING? A Note from the Commission on Global Reconciliation Each year our diocese allocates 0.7% of the diocesan budget to support work done to achieve MDGs by parishes and entities within the diocese. The Eight Millennial Development Goals are - ERADICATE EXTREME POVERTY & HUNGER
- ACHIEVE UNIVERSAL PRIMARY EDUCATION
- PROMOTE GENDER EQUALITY AND EMPOWER WOMEN
- REDUCE CHILD MORTALITY
- IMPROVE MATERNAL HEALTH6.
- COMBAT HIV/AIDS, MALARIA AND OTHER DISEASES

Last year, contributions were sent to 5 projects that are supported by congregations within our diocese.
