       Third Annual

Interfaith Day at Miller Park

  JULY 17, 2012

Save the date - Tuesday, July 17 - and come with your family, friends, congregation, faith community, school or other organization for a celebratory evening at Miller Park with the Interfaith Conference of Greater Milwaukee.

Donate food for the Hunger Task Force, wear "Going to Bat for a Better World" t-shirts and see an exciting Brewers-Cardinals game.

For the past two years, we also have been given the honor of having one of our participants throw a symbolic first pitch on the playing field before the game.  If we sell enough tickets to qualify for that again, we'll conduct a drawing and let a lucky boy or girl have the thrill of pitching from the mound to a Brewers catcher.

The Interfaith Conference handles all ticket and t-shirt sales online for individuals or groups. There's no hassle for you. More details will follow soon.

Episcopal Church Foundation (ECF) resources recommended at Vestry Training Days
Peggy Bean, Bishop's Deputy for congregational Development , encourages clergy and lay leaders to check out the many resources available on the Episcopal Church Foundation website this Spring. These resources were recommended at the Vestry Training Days held around the diocese earlier this year.
As part of ECF's on-going efforts to assist congregations in developing their leadership and financial resources, they are offering a wide range of webinars for clergy and lay parish leaders this spring. There is no cost to participate in any of these webinars and all lay and clergy leaders are welcome to participate.

Topics will include capital campaigns, endowments, and planned giving.

Beginning in Lent and continuing through May 25, donors have the opportunity to make their dollars go even further toward fighting malaria in Africa.  During this period, any donation made to the NetsforLife Inspiration Fund will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $430,000, thanks to a group of generous Episcopal Relief & Development donors.  This means nearly $1 million will be raised to fight malaria in sub-Saharan Africa, through the NetsforLife program partnership.

Any size gift to the NetsforLife Inspiration Fund - online, by mail or by phone - will be matched in full until May 25, or as long as matching funds are available.  We encourage donors to also consider taking advantage of company matching programs as well.

Episcopal Relief & Development is the international relief and development agency of the Episcopal Church and an independent 501(c)(3) organization.

St. Boniface Talks Religion and Politics   St. Boniface Episcopal Church (located at 3906 West Mequon Road, Mequon WI 63092) announces a discussion on religion and politics with a bible study of Amos and Hosea on Tuesday mornings beginning April 17, 2012.

This study, entitled Amos and Hosea: Boundaries, Tough Love, and Amazing Grace, uses the Kerygma curriculum that is characterized by enthusiastic, small group interaction focused on helping participants to apply bible lessons to everyday life.

During the 10 week session, the group will discuss boundaries between church and state, boundaries between "us" and "them," boundaries between worship and service, who and how we trust and when trust can lead us to idolatry.

The Kerygma Program states, "Amos' and Hosea's message is surely relevant for a society such as ours, divided as it is on issues of theology, politics, economics, government, and morality. We need to hear about God's tough love and amazing grace which are extended to a people who have often broken the Divine heart."

The study is open to everyone regardless of church or religious affiliation or political point of view. Classes will be held on Tuesdays from 10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. at St. Boniface Church beginning April 17. To reserve your spot, please contact the church at 262-242-2994 or kmiller@saintbonifacechurch.com. There is no cost to attend this class however,  an optional study guide is available for $25.
