Rest in Peace . . . The Rt. Rev. Arthur A. Vogel
Earlier this month, we received word of the death of The Rt. Rev. Arthur A. Vogel, retired Bishop of West Missouri. Bishop Vogel left many family members and friends in the Diocese of Milwaukee. From 1952 to 1971, he was Williams Adams Professor of Philosophical and Systematic Theology at Nashotah House Seminary. While teaching at Nashotah House, he served for several years as rector of the parish of St. John Chrysostom in Delafield.

St. Peter's, West Allis: Update & Invitation In 2010 and 2011, St. Peter's - West Allis participated in a number of introspective activities under the direction of Interim Rector Gary Lambert and the Bishop's Assistant for Congregational Development and Deployment, Peggy Bean. We discussed who we were, who we are, where we are, and who we hope to become.
We identified our collective faith, hospitality, worship, and outreach as core values and are in the process of increasing our levels of commitment to each of these areas.
We dream of the day in which we will be able to open our doors for services - Morning Prayer, Evening Prayer, and Eucharist - daily. While we're not there yet, we have decided that we can worship in a manner closer to that ideal during Holy Week. We are extending our Holy Week worship path - our climax to Lent - with services of special significance each day. We welcome friends and strangers alike to join us on our journey.

Julian Gathering
Julian Gathering, Wednesday, April 11, 7:15 - 9:00 PM, St. Dunstan's Episcopal Church, Madison, WI.
What is a Julian Gathering? A Julian Gathering is open to everyone and you are welcome at all times. We support each other in the practice of contemplative prayer and contemplative spirituality. These gatherings are initiated and supported by the Order of Julian of Norwich (www.orderofjulian.org) and have the quintessentially Anglican writings of Bl. Mother Julian of Norwich at their core. They are for all who want to deepen their life of faith through the practice of contemplative prayer, for beginners as well as those already practicing. Each meeting includes time for contemplative prayer and reading/discussion of Bl. Julian's revelations. Don't worry if you've never practiced silent prayer before, we can set your mind at ease. We meet the second Wednesday of each month from 7:15 to 9 PM at St. Dunstan's Episcopal Church, 6205 University Ave., Madison, WI. Our next meeting is Wednesday, April 11. For additional information, contact Susan Fiore: (608) 845-2413 or slfiore@mac.com.

Musical Instruments arrive in Jeannette!
Saint Andrew's, Madison and Resurrection, Mukwonago combined to send $2,240 to the parish of Saint Marc's in Jeannette, Haiti for the purchase of musical instruments. Here is what Pere Wisnel says: Good Afternoon Father Andy. I hope that you had a wonderful Sunday. I am emailing to let you know that 150 people at St. Marc's prayed for you today because of the musical instrument money. We had 150 people at church yesterday and they danced almost one hour. Music is a part of Haitian lives. This is one of the most precious gifts you help us to receive. I ask them to pray for you every day. Vote by March 31 to help "Mary's Room" of St. Paul's, Watertown win equipment and makeover!

Mary's Room has been selected as 1of 10 finalists in the Rubbermaid "Give the Gift of Organization" makeover contest. The finalist with the most votes at the end of March 2012 wins a Complete Organization Makeover and Equipment! Mary's Room is a place where families in need can pick up free diapers, wipes, baby furniture, clothing and other baby items when there are just no other resources out there. Started as a leap of faith by a church with few resources, this outreach program has served women with infants who have found themselves homeless; battered women who had nowhere else to turn for supplies; grandmas who were literally left holding the baby. We are serving a lot of families on a weekly basis and still growing, and overflowing! The Lord has demonstrated his abundance, and the loaves and fishes principle is alive and well, but Mary's Room needs some organization to continue to help parents and relatives with their infant's needs.
