Tour de DioMil
Gary Manning, the rector of Trinity Church has been busily preparing for his sabbatical after seven years of service in this Diocese. The centerpiece of his sabbatical planning is a project to ride his bicycle around the "perimeter" of our Diocese beginning on Tuesday, August 30 and concluding on Friday, September 9. "Tour de DioMil" goals include raising awareness of the faithful parishes in this diocese and raising $50,000 to be shared by the Diocese of Milwaukee Haiti Project, the clean water initiatives of Episcopal Relief and Development, and World Bicycle Relief's bike-building efforts.
You may read more about the tour (including the schedule of stops and parishes to be visited along the way) at the Tour's website: http://tourdediomil.weebly.com . |

Support for Bread of Life ministry
The Rev. Kevin Stewart celebrated his last Sunday at Trinity, Wauwatosa earlier this month. He is now assigned to
St. Luke's Church, Racine where he operates the the Bread of Life Hospitality Center for the homeless along with Deacon Bob Bagley of St. Michael's, Racine and a crew of volunteers. Bread of Life provides the homeless and others looking for a safe place to be welcomed, and receive rest, relaxation, conversation, snacks, and coffee.
Trinity, Wauwatosa has made a generous donation to the Center in celebration of Kevin's ministry. A number of parishes in the diocese now support the work of the Center, which has a continuing need for snacks and other items, including bottled orange juice, bottled water, fresh fruit, granola bars, cookies, ground coffee, new and gently used Bibles, magazines, books and new socks. If you can donate any items, or are interested in volunteering at the Hospitality Center, contact Kevin Stewart at (414) 405-5619 or kstewart20@wi.rr.com.
Bread of Life Ministries is an outreach ministry of St. Luke's Church which provides service to the homeless and near-homeless people of Racine County. The vestry of St. Luke's believes that providing hospitality to those who have nowhere to go may lead us to an encounter with Christ, and that by opening our church doors increases the chance to allow true holiness to find us. |
