The Rev. Canon Jack Bunday
The Rev. Canon Roger Jack Bunday died peacefully in his sleep Saturday night (Feb. 26) at St. John's Home. He was 91 years old and had been in declining health this past year. After retiring in 1984 as rector of St. Andrew's in Emporia, Kansas, Fr. Bunday made his home in Milwaukee and served for many years as an assisting priest (and later a Canon) at All Saints' Cathedral, where he will be dearly missed.
The Rt. Rev. Steven A. Miller, Bishop of Milwaukee, will celebrate the funeral service at 7:00 p.m. at All Saints Cathedral on Thursday, March 3. Visitation will precede the service (5:00 - 7:00 p.m.) Clergy are invited to vest; color is advent blue. Reception will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cathedral are suggested per Fr. Bunday's instructions.
All Saints' Cathedral is located at 818 East Juneau Avenue, Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53202.

Special Message from
Bishop Miller
Dear Friends in Christ,
Over the last few days we have witnessed freedom and democracy at work around the world. I am pleased to report to you that our friends in our former companion diocese of Egypt are safe and that the missionaries of The Episcopal Church serving in Egypt are continuing their ministry in that place. I know you will join me in continuing to hold the people of Egypt and the rest of the Middle East in your prayers.
This past week we have also seen democracy at work in Wisconsin as thousands gathered in Madison in response to the Governor's Budget Bill. Regardless of our individual positions on the bill before the Legislature and what steps are necessary to build a stronger and better Wisconsin, I believe we can all agree that our baptismal vow to "respect the dignity of every human being" is not served by a majority simply pushing through legislation because they have the votes necessary to do so. As Christians, it is our duty and call to make sure that everyone has a place at the table . . . read full letter

Inclusion is more than greeting someone at the door and welcoming them to coffee hour. It is creating ways to invite people into the parish community and ways to continually deepen and develop these relationships. SECOND TUESDAY SERIES
AT DEKOVEN
The Second Tuesday Series is designed as a morning of fellowship and reflection. Everyone is cordially invited! There is no charge, though a freewill offering is welcomed.
March 8, 2011 - 10:00 a.m.
Susanne Sklar, D.Phil , Queen's College, Oxford
Assistant Professor of English, Carthage College
"Beauty will save the world"
This is how Susanne explained the Meditation she will bring us. "When Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn won the Nobel Prize in 1970, he spoke of how he had imagined speaking to the world while he was in the gulag. In freezing darkness, he composed speeches in his mind. But when he stood before the Nobel Committee in Stockholm and all the world could hear him, he quoted his mentor Dostoevsky - who had also survived Siberian prison camps to write these words: 'Beauty will save the world.' In Russian Orthodox spirituality, in the poetry of William Blake, and in Navajo and Iroquois traditions, it is beauty that connects the human and the divine," Susanne continued. "It is beauty that transforms souls and societies. In our magical hour, we shall think on these things!"

Bishop Miller Announces
Lenten Appeal for Haiti
Dear Friends in Christ,
Blessings to you as we enter the season of Lent. As we begin this holy season of prayer, fasting, and self-denial, I write to ask for your continued prayers and support for our brothers and sisters in Haiti.
The earthquake of January 12th, 2010, destroyed 80% of the Diocese of Haiti infrastructure. Many lives within the Church were lost. Hurricanes, a cholera epidemic, political instability, and hundreds of thousands of people still living in tents are stark realities of everyday life in Haiti. In the upcoming months, I will be asking you to consider helping our Haitian brothers and sisters by donating as generously as possible through any or all of three appeals . . . .
