Julian Gathering September 8th
jul2

There will be a Julian Gathering on Wednesday, September 8 from 7:15 - 9:00 PM at St. Dunstan's Episcopal Church in Madison, WIisconsin.
What is a Julian Gathering?  A Julian Gathering is open to everyone and you are welcome at all times.  We support each other in the practice of contemplative prayer and contemplative spirituality.  These gatherings are initiated and supported by the Order of Julian of Norwich (www.orderofjulian.org) and have the quintessentially Anglican writings of Bl. Mother Julian of Norwich at their core.  They are for all who want to deepen their lives of faith through the practice of contemplative prayer, for beginners as well as those already practicing.  Each meeting includes time for contemplative prayer, fellowship, and reading/discussion of Bl. Julian's revelations.  At the beginning of each meeting, brief instruction on the practice of contemplative prayer is offered.   We meet the second Wednesday of each month from 7:15 to 9 PM at St. Dunstan's Episcopal Church, 6205 University Ave., Madison, WI.  Our next meeting is Wednesday, September 8.  For additional information, contact Susan Fiore: (608) 845-2413 or lento@chorus.net .

Greetings from the Lutheran-Episcopal Campus Ministry at UW-Whitewater!

Brett Favre is in the news again, which means fall is just around the corner.  Our students will be back in just a few weeks and if you have students attending the UW-Whitewater, we would love to meet them!  Your referral information will make that happen-the UW will not divulge religious preference so your referrals will allow us to "meet and greet" Episcopalian students on campus.

This fall, St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Whitewater will be offering two free student dinners a month in the Parish Hall.  We have doubled the meals we are offering and would love to partner with other congregations, youth groups, etc in hosting these meals.  We have been averaging between thirty and forty students for these meals-they are a lot of fun and the students love having a "home cooked" meal-this love reaches across all faith traditions!

If interested, please call Fr. Dave Huxley at 262.749.1168 or e-mail me at
dehuxrev@sbcglobal.net . Thank you!

From the SFH Chaplain

Calling all clergy:  Is there someone from your parish who will be attending UW-Madison in the fall?  If so, please be in touch with me at 608-257-0688 or chaplain@stfrancisuw.org

Sometimes it's not so easy to figure out by working
with the University if any Episcopalians are enrolling, so please let me know and I'll work on reaching out to any incoming (or current!) students you know of.  We have worship and dinner weekly at 5pm, as well as mid-week services and fellowship opportunities.

Thanks for your help!
Tom Ferguson, Chaplain

One more time . . . THANK YOU for forwarding this newsletter to parishioners and others who may be  interested and for sending YOUR news/events / photos to

info@diomil.org .

See you next week!

Sincerely,
