St. Luke's, Madison awarded Challenge Grant
Peggy Worzalla, Bishop's Deputy for Congregational Development, reports that St Luke's in Madison is the first congregation to be awarded a Challenge Grant for Greeting and Incorporation. The amount of the grant is $1,000. Congratulations!
In the review of their plan they saw not only how hit or miss the greeting plan had been, but now how their strengths of the community can address the issues of greeting as well as incorporation.
The Vestry has made full incorporation of new members one of the two goals they will be working on this year. At their next retreat this will be the topic of discussion and review along with planning for implementation.

Book of Remembrance Women of the Diocese, have you heard about the Book of Remembrance? Do you have a woman, or more than one, who, before they died, had been active in your parish and you'd like a special way to honor/remember them? The "BOR" is for you! It's a beautiful old book, with the names of those women who have died lovingly entered in fine calligraphy from the parish they served. Women have done this since 1876 for other women. Each honoree has a card, kept forever, with her information, and how she served; the donation is $10, which goes into a fund, the interest from which the Bishop gives to Diocesan seminary students for help with their education. What a lovely way to remember someone, and help seminarians at the same time. If you aren't sure whether someone from your parish has been included, please contact Meg Haag @ St. Anskar's. If you, or your parish needs cards for this purpose, also contact Meg Haag at 262.538.4455

The Motto of the Order For His Sake . . .I am one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. What I can do, I will do. What I ought to do, by the grace of God I will do. Lord, what will you have me do?
The Daughters of the King is an international religious order for women who are communicants of the Episcopal Church. Margaret J. Franklin instituted the Order on Easter eve, 1885 at Trinity Church, New York City and chapters are now found all over the world. The Order is sacramental and we take life-time vows of prayer, service and evangelism. It is these two aspects of the Order that make it different from other organizations. Being a Daughter does not preclude anyone from continuing to participate in other organizations. Anyone woman interested in learning more about the Daughters of the King is invited to join us Saturday, May 22, at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 4011 Major Ave, Madison, WI. Current Daughters-at-Large will meet at 10:00 am. Any interested women are welcome at 11:00 am. We will welcome Lela Joscelyn, the Diocesan President of the Daughters of the King. Peace be with you, Catherine Stanley, Daughter-at-Large |

What in the World are you doing?
A Note from the Diocese of Milwaukee's Commission on Global Reconciliation We know that many parishes in our diocese are engaged in mission both here in the U.S. and throughout the world. Last Fall at the Diocesan Convention we displayed a "Wall of Mission" featuring photos of us at work. We want to do the same thing at next Fall's convention. Please take great pictures and get them ready to display in October. [Deacon Carol Smith, Chair of Commission on Global Reconciliation]
