Nightwatch at All Saints Cathedral
All Saints Cathedral in Milwaukee put out the "red carpet" of hospitality on February 26, welcoming 27 youth and adults from nine different congregations to Nightwatch, for an overnight stay that included a variety of both fun and educational activities. The event began with introductory games and dinner. Toppers Pizza graciously donated enough pizza to feed what they estimated would be 50 hungry people . . . . One of the most enjoyable parts of the gathering was the extensive tour of the cathedral . . . . Another highlight included the opportunity to celebrate Holy Communion with our Bishop, the Rt. Rev. Steven Miller . . . before the service Bishop Miller fielded an incredibly diverse array of questions . . . .

Ecological concerns are sometimes thought to be foreign to biblical theology. However, Christians and Jews are often unaware that numerous texts in the Hebrew Bible contain a more complex picture of the relationships between God, humanity, the earth and its creatures.

Trinity, Mineral Point hosts tea for community
Tea at Trinity, which made its debut last year as a fundraiser to benefit Orchard Lawn, returns this year but with a new purpose: as a party for the community, hosted by Trinity Church and the Trinity Guild.
"Everyone who came seemed to really enjoy themselves last year," said Carolyn Hunt, chair of this year's event. "We thought it would be fun to do it over again this year, but without charging for it, as a gesture of hospitality from Trinity to the community."
The tea will be held Sunday afternoon, April 25, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., and absolutely everyone is invited. "If each of us invited five friends from outside the parish, this would be a remarkable outreach effort," Carolyn says. "Let's see what we can do!"

The Motto of the Order For His Sake . . .I am one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. What I can do, I will do. What I ought to do, by the grace of God I will do. Lord, what will you have me do?
The Daughters of the King is an international religious order for women who are communicants of the Episcopal Church. Margaret J. Franklin instituted the Order on Easter eve, 1885 at Trinity Church, New York City and chapters are now found all over the world. The Order is sacramental and we take life-time vows of prayer, service and evangelism. It is these two aspects of the Order that make it different from other organizations. Being a Daughter does not preclude anyone from continuing to participate in other organizations. Anyone woman interested in learning more about the Daughters of the King is invited to join us Saturday, May 22, at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 4011 Major Ave, Madison, WI. Current Daughters-at-Large will meet at 10:00 am. Any interested women are welcome at 11:00 am. We will welcome Lela Joscelyn, the Diocesan President of the Daughters of the King. Peace be with you, Catherine Stanley, Daughter-at-Large |
