| Greetings!
This has been a busy and exciting few weeks at the BAC! This February we have held a very successful fundraiser, had several visits to the school from members of our advisory committee, and begun art education sessions and field trips with the Guggenheim.
Please read on for more information about all of these events. As a reminder, the Brooklyn Autism Center will be closed next week for mid-winter recess!

Comedy Fundraiser Recap!
| Thanks to all BAC families and board members for making the 3rd annual Stand-Ups Give BAC comedy fundraiser the best yet! This event sold out weeks in advance, and we had a great crowd! In addition to ticket sales, we raised $1,065 with the 50/50 raffle, and over $3,000 with the silent auction, plus received many additional donations. Seven very talented comedians - Caroline Rhea, Eddie Brill, Ted Alexandro, Pete Correale, Mitch Fatel, Dan Adhoot, Wil Sylvince, and Tom Papa had everyone cracking up!
Another huge thanks to the Hirschfeld family for coordinating this event! It's so nice to have an event where BAC supporters, staff, and families can come together for a great time while introducing friends to our organization.

Visits from the BAC's Advisory Board
| | This month, in order to improve our services, the Brooklyn Autism Center invited members of our advisory committee to visit and observe our program, offering feedback and suggestions for improvement. On February 3rd, Scott Wright, CEO and President of the Lovaas Institute visited. He observed each of our students and provided feedback about their individual programs, as well as our overall program! On February 4th, Jamie Pagliaro, Vice-President of Rethink Autism and former Director of the New York Center for Autism Charter School spent a day observing our program and providing feedback on staff training and performance measurements. On March 2nd, Beth Glasberg-Katz, BCBA and behavioral consultant, will be coming out to the BAC to provide another professional perspective. We are grateful to have such a prestigious and experienced advisory board donating their time and expertise to maintain the high-quality services at the BAC! |

Thanks for reading this newsletter! We are looking forward to another great school year. Please continue to help us thrive by spreading the word about the BAC to your friends, families, and people you meet in the autism community!
