Greetings!
We hope you and your family are having a great summer and keeping cool! As we head in to the fall of our fourth BAC school year, we wanted to let you know what will be happening at the BAC after the summer break in August: - On August 30th, BAC staff will return for a week of intensive training. During this time, all staff members will be re-certified in CPR and receive PMT (Physical and Pyschological Management Training).
- On September 7th, students return to school. This school year will consist of 207 school days, 6 more days of instruction than last year!
- BAC Friends, our free, twice-a-week, after-school peer socialization program will resume in October. BAC instructors Joe and Lhea will continue to plan fun, educational activities for BAC students and typical peer volunteers on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

BAC Tech: Smart Board Donation
|
The BAC has gotten a big upgrade in the technology department, thanks to a generous donor! During our fund-raising campaign this summer, a Smart Board was anonymously donated to the BAC. The Smart Board allows for interactive displays using computer input. Next week, BAC staff will participate in a two hour training session next week to learn how to use the device.

New Park at Pier 6
|
A wonderful new park has recently opened near the BAC! The Brooklyn Bridge Park at Pier 6 is on the waterfront, a short walk away from the school. The park features a water play area with sprinklers, as well as a playground with swings and slides. We are excited to have this great new space to enjoy this summer!
