IT Thoughts from virtualkeeper.com Monthly
Greetings!

This month I'm going to do some housekeeping for the clients that receive this and post a few nods to the policies and such of business.

Never fear though, I've got a few recommendations for neat stuff that will help you in your daily online/desktop life.

Sincerely,

The wHumanUpdates to the Terms and Conditions and a Billing Policy Reminder

From time to time, it becomes necessary to remind our clients that we do indeed have some governing rules and regulations that help keep the good ship virtualkeeper afloat.

We have updated our Terms and Conditions for service available for view here.

We would also like to remind clients that there is a $25 dollar late fee applied to any outstanding invoices and postmarked dates do not matter. We do accept credit card payments if you do not trust the US Mail. You might want to review the Biliing Policy here.

Just a yearly reminder of our guiding principles. Now back to your regular programming...

The wHumanFree Graphics Program!

A client called and was asking about file types, etc. regarding her logo and during the discussion she asked me about free graphics programs and most people don't have a good source for any so here is one to download or visit.

GIMP (http://www.gimp.org/) is a great little Photoshop/Paintshop type application that is freely distributed. If you need a free program for graphics, photos, etc. it is probably the market leader for free graphic programs.

If you really want it to look and feel like Photoshop, try using GIMPshop (http://gimpshop.com/ ). Granted, Photoshop is a tough program to learn but it is the gold standard in image editing.

If you just want to touch up pictures of the kids for posting on Facebook, try using Google's Picasa available here. Purposely built for novice users, it is very easy to use and won't take 3 days to learn the interface.

Well, there you go. Free graphics programs for the time of a download.

SITE PREVIEWS

The wHuman
PeterTata.com

This summer I had a chance to create a really cool site for Peter Tata. Peter is a nationally recognized photographer specializing in Architectural Photography.

Peter wanted a site he could show off his portfolio and provide a spot for clients to access downloads.

I started with a great base using software called Imagevue and then heavily customized the software to reflect his wants and needs for a slick looking Flash based site. I really like the end result and think it just rocks.

Stop by at PeterTata.com and take a look at the site and if you'd like for me to take a look at your site for a redesign, let me know.
Let me know if there is something you'd like to see covered or featured and I'll throw some thought to it.

Sincerely,
