Your computer should always have some type of anti-virus software running to keep your computer clean.  We recommend Eset NOD32 for virus protection but Kapersky is fine too.  If you are a Comcast Internet customer, you can get anti-virus software for free.

Website Marketing/ Internet Tips

After years of fighting with PayPal's Application Programming Interface (API) , I had one of my programming vendors build a custom PayPal cart for my clients.  We are offering this to our current customers.  Here are the details:
  • Customized PayPal shopping cart to look like your website
  • You enter the categories and products into your cart
  • Your website is updated on the fly
  • Pictures and descriptions of your products can be easily added to the products section. 
     

This application works much like our blog tool, which can now handle file attachments.  It's a great way for you to update a section of your site on your own.

Computer Tips

Do you use your mouse so much that you get mouse finger - Pain in the arm or hand from constantly clicking? Here are a few keyboard shortcuts to give that mouse a rest. 


GENERAL KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS


ALT- F4 - Quit a program / Shut down

ALT-TAB - Hold down the ALT key and hit tab to cycle through open windows.

CTL-ESCAPE - Display the Start menu

SHIFT - TAB - tab backwards through a form

CTRL - X - Cut

CTRL - C - Copy

CTRL - V - Paste

F1 - Help menu

CTRL - Z - Undo


Have you ever had a CD stuck in your CD Rom?  Use a paperclip to open the CD Drawer by sticking the clip end into the small hole by the CD drawer button. 

Hold SHIFT while inserting a CD - Prevents the CD from "autorunning"


If an item is selected:


CTRL while dragging a file - Copies the file

CTRL - SHIFT while dragging a file - Creates a shortcut to the file

SHIFT - DELETE - Deletes an item without sending it to the recycle bin.

ALT-ENTER - Display a file's properties.

F2 - To rename the file
