I appreciate some of you coming out to the SCORE Social Media workshop last month. I had a great time and SCORE had a record turn out. We posted some more of our workshops in the events section of this newsletter.

Technology is like a black hole, the more you learn, the more there is to learn. My husband just got a new droid phone. He's tried to show me new apps, etc. I do not want to know anymore!

It's certainly hard to know everything. Most times if I don't know, I reach out to others. If my clients ask a question I don't know, I find someone who can help them. Networking, either online or offline, is still the key to keeping your business running smoothly. It really does pay to know people!

Using Links on Your Website

Does your website have a links page? If not, consider getting one. You can call it Partners, Vendors, Helpful Links, etc. Make that page useful to your website by linking to friends or colleague's website and ask them to link back to you. What will that do?
Increase your website traffic for one. By having others link to you, you increase your chances of someone finding your website. news

If you prefer to work alone, use this page to link to helpful articles or press releases. Once you have some good links going away from your website, search engines pick that up as being a resource for others and you get better rankings. Affiliate links can help you generate some revenue or increase your rankings.

Either way, a link page is a great way to increase website traffic or search engine rankings. If you are not sure, ask us. We can help you come up with page content or links.

Computer Tips

Having trouble getting online?

* Reboot, see if if comes back online.
* Laptop, make sure you didn't turn off your wireless switch (usually on the side or in the front)
* If that doesn't work, unplug the power to your router for 20 seconds, then plug it back in.
* Check the computer, and give it a minute to get back online
* If that fails, unplug the modem from the wall and plug it back in.

Facebook Applications

Do you like Farmville, Mafia Wars and Cafe World on Facebook? These applications and many more can contain viruses or cause your computer to get a virus. These applications are easily blocked with Facebook. If you do get a virus, Web Tech Services can help. 80% of the computers that come in for repair have some type of virus or adware.

New Social Media Tips

I can't believe the results our clients are getting with their social media campaigns! Many have seen a significant increase in their website traffic. Business owners who do not have the resources (or interest) to write their own content prefer to outsource.
