It is estimated that the average screening for Ashkenazi Jews in Atlanta is for 3 diseases. It is our responsibility to establish 19 as the standard panel for the Atlanta Jewish community. 1 in 5 Ashkenazi Jews carries a gene for one or more of these conditions that could result in the birth of a child with a serious disease. As parents, prospective parents, grandparents, community leaders, doctors, hospital administrators, philanthropists, rabbis and members of the Jewish community, we ask you to join our partnership and help us prevent genetic diseases affecting Jews.
