Support Tip

User Account Control (UAC) is a feature in Windows 7 that can help prevent authorized changes to your computer.  UAC does this by asking you for permission or an administrator password before performing actions that could potentially affect your computer's operation or that change settings that affect other users.  When you see a UAC message, read it carefully, and then make sure the name of the action or program that's about to start is one that you intended to start.

That's the definition from Microsoft.

The Root of All Evil!  That's our definition.

During the installation of MAS on a server or the installation of the workstation software, including the Sage PDF Converter which is required for the Paperless Office module to function properly, User Account Control needs to be disabled.  Speak to your network/IT support people to find out more, but the people we talk to also tell us that UAC can be disabled with no adverse affects.

We look forward to your feedback and your ideas for future issues of our newsletter.  If you would like to contribute an article or suggest an article or support tip to a future newsletter, we'd love to have your contribution.  Please let us know how we can help you Get the Most from Your Sage MAS 90 / 200 Investment.

Sincerely,

    Shabnam and Robert
