Support Tip - Item Inquiry Shows Incorrect 'on PO' or 'on SO' Quantities
Last month, we shared a common support issue with you and we received lots of feedback on its usefulness.  This month, we have another suggestion to help you get your data back in sync.

When reviewing your inventory status screens and reports, the quantity on sales order and the quantity on purchase order helps you manage your inventory.  If you notice that these quantities are simply wrong because you know you shipped that order, then you can run the Rebuild Sort Files utility in the Library Master module.  Select either the SO or PO module and your company code and answer yes to the question do you want to recalculate open order quantities in the Inventory mastefile also.

This correction requires access to utility functions within MAS.  Be very careful.  If you would like help running this utility, please submit a case through our website at www.munjalwhite.com/support

We hope you found this tip helpful.  What little tricks have you discovered that you would like to share with other users?  Please let us know by clicking here and sending us your tips, too.  The first 5 responses will receive a $20 gift card.  It's Roll-Up Time!

Canadian Postal Codes

As long as there has been MAS, there has been the eternal question, why is it, when entering a new address on a customer or vendor record in MAS, you have to enter the postal code and then be prompted for a city and province?  Since not many customers and vendors share the same postal code, it means you have to do this every time for each new postal code.

The reason...

is that the zip code  (aka postal code) lookup file does not contain Canadian postal codes, it contains only the US zip codes.

The solution...

is to purchase a Canadian postal code lookup file and add it into MAS. Although many solutions may be available, we have found one product that a few of our clients have used successfully.  Click here to access the website.  Different versions are available.  The BASIC one is fine if your plan is to get this list once and not update it quarterly (the price on the website today is $50). The more advanced (and more expensive) versions provide regular updates. Of course new postal codes are added but if you get the main list once that should cover most of your needs for a reasonable cost.  At last count, there were 831,535 postal codes!  Uploading this file into MAS will help ensure accuracy in your customer and vendors addresses.

Once the postal cost list has been acquired, you will need to integrate it into Sage MAS 90 / 200 (using Visual Integrator) or have us import it for you. You should allow for an hour of our time to get this done for you.
