Greetings!

Our apologies.  The original version of this newsletter was sent with incorrect links for the HST documents.  The links have been updated.

*******************

This issue of Keeping in Touch is primarily about the dreaded Harmonized Sales Tax (HST).

Last month, Shabnam and I attended the annual Sage partner conference in Denver.  We have lots of information to share in our next newsletter.  Next year, the Sage partner conference and the Sage customer conference will be held in Washington at the same time.  Although not widely attended by our customer base, those who have attended in the past have found the experience to be quite rewarding.  If you're interested in attending Sage Summit 2011, keep Jul 13 to 15, 2011 open in your calendar.  Click here to be kept up to date as the conference continues to take shape.

As always, we value your feedback on our monthly newsletters.  Click here to let us know how we're doing.

A Quote to Ponder
It's not that some people have willpower and some don't. It's that some people are ready to change and others are not.

Implementing the HST
As you are well aware, Ontario and British Columbia are adopting the Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) effective July 1, 2010.

In response to many emails and calls, we have put together a rather lengthy document outlining how you can update your Sage MAS 90 / 200 system to accommodate this change.  Click here to access this document.  We have prepared this document as a free service to you to allow you to make the necessary changes yourself.  As the implementation date draws near, we may update this document.  Be sure to check back to this link for updates.  If you need additional assistance, we can help . . .
  • If you plan to make the change yourself, but have questions, please submit a service/support request through our website at www.munjalwhite.com/support and we will respond on a timeline and billing option that you select, or
  • If you don't have the time or resources, we can take the lead role for this work.  Our fee for this service is $500 for clients using Sage MAS 90 / 200 v4.05 or higher.  Click here to access the service agreement that outlines the work that we will do and your responsibilities.  Given the tight implementation timeline, we will schedule this work on a first request basis.  Click here to request this service and we'll be in touch to plan and schedule with you.  If you are using an earlier version of Sage MAS 90 / 200, please contact us for a custom quote for this work
A few of you have already contacted us to schedule our assistance with your implementation of the HST.  If after reading the guidance material, you would prefer to handle the setup yourself or would like to use the fixed-fee remote connection option outlined above, please let us know; otherwise, we'll assume that the appointment time still stands.

Online Support Request Form
At the end of November, we introduced our new online support/service request form at www.munjalwhite.com/support.  Thank you to all of you who have taken the time to fill in the details on this online form.

Some of you (and you know who you are!) still prefer to email or call either or both Shabnam or Robert directly for service/support issues.  Of course, we want to help you as best and as quickly as we can, but if you email us directly . . .
- your response will most likely be delayed as we are often both out of the office and we have assigned responsiblity as to who will monitor/manage incoming support requests
- we don't know urgent the issue is.  If you email directly or call, we don't know if you need a response in 3 hours or 3 days.  The online form has a place for you to indicate the urgency (and billing option) and we can respond accordingly

As part of the online support/service request form, when you submit the request, you'll receive an email confirmation with the details of your issue.  If you do not receive that confirmation, please let us know so we can troubleshoot with our web developer.

Even if you have worked directly with Robert or Shabnam on a similar/related issue in the past, it's always best to use the online support form -- this ensures that we are both 'kept in the loop' about your issues and we may have a suggestion that the other didn't consider.

We look forward to your feedback and your ideas for future issues of our newsletter.  If you would like to contribute an article to a future newsletter, we'd love to have your contribution.  Please let us know how we can help you Get the Most from Your Sage MAS 90 / 200 Investment.

Sincerely,

    Shabnam and Robert
