Come enjoy and celebrate the wonderful work of Orinda's young artists! Selected art work from grades 1-8 will be on display.

5th Annual Lamorinda Acalanes Union Film Festival

At Campolindo Performing Arts Center ~Sponsored by The Orinda Arts Council. Roughly 20 short student films will be screened, each written, directed, and produced by students from Campolindo, Miramonte, Acalanes or JM Intermediate schools. Awards will given in 10 categories, with additional sponsorship from The Orinda Arts Council to be awarded to the Winning Director of the Best in Show film to attend a High School Summer Program in Video Production. According to Campo film arts teacher Justin Seligman: "The festival showcases the talent of our community's students: as actors, as screenwriters, as cinematographers, and as digital artists. It gives them a forum to tell their own stories, in their own voices."

Come to Performers for Progress, a student-run variety show featuring talented Lamorinda high school students raising money for charity.

This April, Performers for Progess is supporting Oakland-based By Any Dreams Necessary, with proceeds going to creating a semester-long arts program in an underprivileged middle school in Oakland.

U.S. Premiere of "FLUGTEN"

Danish journalist Rikke Lyngvig is taken hostage in Afghanistan by a terror group, but with help from the young Afghan Nazir, Rikke successfully flees and saves her life.  She  is rapidly declared the Danish Jessica Lynch and her career is launched into the spotlight. In the meantime Nazir flees from Afghanistan  to Denmark. When Rikke meets Nazir she is torn. Is she willing to help the man that saved her life, even though he held her captive and threatened to kill her? Is she willing to jeopardize her new-found career by accommodating an applicant for asylum who is wanted by the police?
