Greetings!
Keep praying!
God is so good. I was reminded of that in countless ways recently; in fact it seems like a recurring echo in my life.
- Father's Day weekend was absolutely great.
- Friday I was able to visit the church children away at camp. They were so excited to see me. All of them wanted to talk at the same time to tell me their experiences. I loved it.
- After that I got to spend an evening and morning with Alison. We had a blast! She went riding with me on the motorcycle, cooked a great meal, and we went to the movies.
- On Saturday before Father's Day I was able to meet my parents for breakfast. Mom is now 84 and Dad will turn 83 this fall. They are both in good health.
- Amber came home for the weekend. She is pushing through the last year of her doctorate in Physical Therapy. She cooked a meal for us!
I came away from the weekend feeling so blessed! And not just by the family. I am blessed by the opportunity to serve as your pastor.
- I received so much affirmation and encouragement about the Hot Topic series.
- It was great to see the church affirm the step from the elders to relocate the offices to the church campus.
- I'm still just soaking up the great report from RU CRAZY.
- RU CRAZY giving has taken a huge step forward.
- (Regular giving seems to be taking a hit-please tell me you are not shifting your regular giving to RU CRAZY. That would be like deciding at home to not spend on groceries because you want to purchase more gasoline!)
- Mission trips are coming.
- Kids have been to camp.
- Youth are leaving for camp.
- There is such a sweet spirit of unity in the church.
Sometimes I think we miss the sweet spot in prayer simply because we do not stop to count our blessings. I've named just a few blessings here-there are so many more!
How about you take time to count the many blessings of the Lord in your life?
Then pray.
By the way, the next four prayer journals will come from Willis Adkins as he leads our latest trip to Haiti. Be in prayer for the mission team. |
