Pastors' Prayer PartnersApril 9, 2012
Greetings!

Prayer is a form of worship.

And sometimes your prayer should feel like worship. How do you do that? With all our modern conveniences it really isn't that hard. Yesterday we sang two songs that were new to our worship. Both of them were about the hope of Heaven. I've inserted the two songs here through a youtube link.

Take a moment to listen, to sing, and worship. No-one is listening but God, and He is worthy of your worship. The lyrics are included in the videos. If you are like me, you'll want to turn it up!

Listen, if you have never done this before, it might feel a little odd, but individual worship is every bit as important and vital to your spiritual vibrancy as is corporate worship. If you will discipline yourself to worship Him in private, your public worship will literally "go through the roof".

Do you ever feel like your prayers never get past the ceiling? Do you ever feel like your worship is hollow and empty of meaning and it never rises above the rafters?

Guess what? It doesn't have to! Jesus told us that when He gave us the Holy Spirit that He would live within our hearts.

God is worthy of your praise. He deserves your unashamed expression of worship. Don't be shy. Don't hold it in. Worship Him.

And when you do, talking to Him in prayer becomes an expression of love that naturally pours out from you.

So sing those songs again, LOUDLY! And then read out-loud the following:

1 But very early on Sunday morning the women went to the tomb, taking the spices they had prepared. They found that the stone had been rolled away from the entrance. So they went in, but they didn't find the body of the Lord Jesus. As they stood there puzzled, two men suddenly appeared to them, clothed in dazzling robes.

The women were terrified and bowed with their faces to the ground. Then the men asked, "Why are you looking among the dead for someone who is alive? He isn't here! He is risen from the dead! Remember what he told you back in Galilee, that the Son of Man must be betrayed into the hands of sinful men and be crucified, and that he would rise again on the third day."

Then they remembered that he had said this. So they rushed back from the tomb to tell his eleven disciples-and everyone else-what had happened. 10 It was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and several other women who told the apostles what had happened. 11 But the story sounded like nonsense to the men, so they didn't believe it.12 However, Peter jumped up and ran to the tomb to look. Stooping, he peered in and saw the empty linen wrappings; then he went home again, wondering what had happened.

We don't usually think much about the day after Easter. But think for a moment how their lives must have been changed. Life would never be the same.

Take a moment and think about how your life is different because of Jesus-and the hope of the resurrection, and the promise of Heaven. Now pray and give to Him who alone is worthy of your worship-your gratitude and thanks for all He has done.
