Greetings!
Let me thank you again for signing up to pray. I hope you spent some time searching God's word in Isaiah 6. So for a moment, let's pretend that I'm sitting at your kitchen table over a cup of coffee, and let me ask you a few questions about how it is going. Sound good? Are you praying? Are you coming into His presence? Did you see Him as you read through Isaiah 6? I'm praying that you are devoted in prayer. Remember that word devoted means "persistent, like an athlete committed to staying in peak condition." You wrestle to stay in the fight. Are you wrestling? Are you devoted? Did you see Him? What did you see? Because once you "see Him", then you begin to know Him. I love how Daniel describes those who know and love God. In Daniel 11:32 he writes "...but the people who know their God shall stand firm and take action." (ESV) It is so important that we know God. Not just know about Him, or know of Him; but to really know Him. That's why over the next several weeks we are going to be involved in a study during worship in which we will seek to "KNOW HIM". What is God really like? Do you know? Do you know Him? When you do know Him, does it make any difference? Daniel said that when we know Him; we will stand firm. When we know Him, we will be able to take action. When you come to know God, because you've been in His presence and you've seen his Holiness, like Isaiah, what does that mean for you? What does it mean to "stand firm?" Where do you need to "stand firm" in your life? in your marriage? in your parenting ? in your church? in your faith? in your finances? in your entertainment? When we know Him. We will stand firm. And it appears to me that the only way we can "take action" is that if first of all, we are standing firm. Are you ready? It all begins in knowing Him. |
