Unplugged Pick of the Week
In each issue of InBox Learning, we present an unplugged, non-electronic activity you can enjoy as a family during the last hour of the day, just before bedtime. Here at eLearningK12 we believe this hour should be a time of peace and relaxation in the home, giving a smooth transition from the hectic day to a restful night.
How about a family game of jacks? Jacks is easy enough for even young children to play, yet challenging enough for adults to still have fun. Did you know that while you are playing your onesies, twosies, threesies, etc, you are also learning divisibility rules! Without even knowing they are doing math, kids learn that 15 is not divisible by two, four or six, but it is divisible by three and five. At eLearning, both boys and girls of all ages enjoy jacks. Just this week, a group of middle school aged boys asked for a jacks tournament. Plan a family jacks tournament and let us know who your family champion is! Email ntoups@elearningk12.com to announce your champion. |
