"Think Global for New Growth"
|
|
While the market pundits continue to debate the merits of
the U.S. stock
market recovery from the March 8th low, the global stock markets are
sending a clear message of where capitalism is alive and well. You may be surprised.
The U.S. Stock market is up 39% from its low. However, scanning the globe we find the
following top ten market gains through June
1, 2009 from the respective country stock market lows:
Country Date
of Low Gain from
Low
-
Russia Jan. 24, 2009 +118.0
%
-
Indonesia Nov. 8, 2009 +116.9
%
-
Brazil Nov. 20,2009 +114.6
%
-
Hungary Mar. 4, 2009 +109.3
%
-
China Oct. 28, 2008 +105.5
%
-
India Mar. 12, 2009 +105.1 %
-
Greece Mar. 4, 2009 +92.1 %
-
South Africa Oct. 24, 2009 +88.5 %
-
Turkey Nov. 20, 2008 +86.6 %
-
Korea Nov. 10, 2008 +78.6 %
Median Country +70.1 %
USA Mar. 8, 2009 +39.0 %
There is a message in these numbers. Capitalism is alive and well, but in order to
benefit you must have exposure to the global markets. This is why we are committed to the Denver
Money Manager Global Stock allocation for our clients.
In all likelihood your 401K has no way for you to gain
exposure to all these markets. Look to
Denver Money Manager to balance your 401K investments with your other
retirement assets to gain the global exposure needed to benefit from the
worldwide growth of capitalism.
Bottomline: Investors confined to domestic equities might
find their enthusiasm dulled when they consider that the U.S.
market bounce from its lows has been among the weakest recoveries compared to
global markets. This was the same
message after the recovery of the bear market of 2000-2003. Think global for new growth.
