Greetings!
Hyperbole; comes from the Greek language. Yes just like in the movie, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, where Gus, the father, claims all words come from Greek origin. It means excess or exaggeration. It may be used to evoke strong feelings or to create a strong impression, but is rarely meant to be taken literally.
Keep this definition in mind when you read the newspaper, listen to the news on the radio, watch the news on TV, or when listening to anyone prognosticating on the current state of affairs. By anyone, I also mean to include myself in that equation.
Much like Jack Webb's portrayal of the cop Joe Friday on the old TV show Dragnet, I try to stay with "just the facts." But should you, the reader, ever feel otherwise, I am always open to, and invite constructive criticism.
The Market this week is still showing signs of confusion in terms of direction. One day the financial sector moves the market highter, only to have the same sector bring the market down the very next day. Turbulence is high!
