State Agencies Undergo Sunset Review Process - State Preservation Board

Over the past few weeks, I have been outlining Texas' sunset review process. The agencies I have covered so far include the Texas Board of Architectural Examiners, the Texas Lottery Commission and the Railroad Commission. As a reminder, in order to identify and eliminate government waste, duplication and general inefficiencies in state agencies, the Texas Legislature established the Texas Sunset Advisory Commission (Commission) in 1977. What Matters to District 32

Keith Arnold - Corpus Christi
"Having a sustainable, diversified, economic development portfolio for our area. The Coastal Bend economy has seen its share of peaks and valleys. Today we are riding a strong current of economic upturn in the area, and  continuing  to look for additional ways to sustain our strong foundation of petrochemical, military  and tourism industries. As these continue to evolve,  it is equally essential to update and upgrade our companies and resources in those areas consistently, while aggressively pursuing new economic opportunities to complement these essential "legs" of the economic development "stool" for our communities. As local civic  leaders and others have stated, we need an overreaching economic development strategic  plan  for the City of Corpus Christi and the Coastal Bend. With that fluid document in hand we can better retain existing business, pursue new business and effectively build an economic  platform that will  assure broad-based prosperity for our communities to improve the quality of life and standard of living for all of their citizens far into the future."
