TODD HUNTER CAMPAIGN - KEEPING YOU INFORMED
Thank you!

I want to thank everyone who attended the May 15, 2012 Power On For Texas Film Interactive & Tourism conference that was held at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.  It was co-hosted by myself, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Del Mar College, The University of Houston-Victoria and the Texas Travel Industry Association.  The conference focused on the film industry, the interactive/video game industry, cruise ship industry and travel and tourism throughout the State of Texas.  Topics included the developing trends in the travel and tourism business in the State of Texas.  Some topics include eco-tourism, birding and wildlife photography. Over 700 people attended the event and the participants were local, regional and statewide.

The conference had keynote speakers which included Chancellor John Sharp of the Texas A&M University System and Governor Rick Perry.  According to the Corpus Christi Caller Times, Governor Perry said the Texas film industry represents a growing segment of the States diverse economic engine.  The Governor also indicated that Texas is an emerging force in the film business.  In the Corpus Christi Caller Times the Governor was quoted as saying A-Producers choose Texas, and they do so because not only do we have incredible scenery and diversity, they also get the benefit of an experienced crew base that call Texas home. The entire event was a success and hopefully it will provide ignition for these great businesses to come to the State of Texas.

I want to thank everyone who attended, which includes our keynote speakers, our panelists, our organizers, our sponsors, our hosts and the incredible grassroots citizen participation that were involved locally, regionally and statewide.  The Power on for Texas Film, Interactive & Tourism conference was a great success and we are planning another Conference before the end of the year.

What Matters To District 32:

Humberto Almaraz - Corpus Christi
"Because of severe droughts in Texas, and rapidly growing population, our fresh water resources are being alarmingly depleted.  While there is no simple answer to this problem, I believe that one viable idea that would substantially alleviate water shortages, would be for all the children to understand the urgency of conserving and keeping our water clean."

The Todd Hunter Campaign wants to know so please,
tell us what matters to you!
