I make my living helping employers reduce and control their health care cost. A year ago at this time there was very little to be optimistic about. National health reform legislation was gaining significant momentum and local insurers had spent close to six months aggressively up pricing in an effort to mitigate losses. The focus on quality and consumerism simply had not delivered the desired results.
In looking back, there was a great deal of change unfolding at the time (beyond national health reform) that could make a significant impact on our local health insurance market in the years to come.
